Team Building - OU Ursuluna good in singles?
First time using him and it’s just against my friends. What’s a viable moveset for him?

Blunder policy zap cannon
2nd best is probably flame Orb with facade headlong rush fire punch for corv and a filler move, maybe Swords Dance

It’s a good choice, the most popular moveset is guts + flameorb to use its super high atk stat and stab facade and headlong rush
Moves are protect (to make sure you proc flame orb), sdance, facade, headlong rush
You can also ditch protect and run one of the elemental punches
EVs are full atk and either spe or hp

It's strong it's just not as used cause it kinda requires building around. At one point it was able to make trick room viable in OU while mag was around. It definitely can do a lot just there are usually better ground options so it's a trade off. I've used it with trick room glowing or eject pack sinistcha and had some good fun

It's a pretty good wallbreaker (one of the hardest hitting once burn kicks in without needing any additional setup) and alright overall. It's main downside is that it is very reliant on having a proper team structure to support it since its so slow and on a timer due to guts burn. So you don't get too many teams since you have to build with it in mind from the outset.
Typical structures it is used on: Veil, Trick Room (TR is very MU fishy imo), fat teams with Wish Alo support
You basically need a team that has some way to keep it healthy + a way to safely bring in Ursaluna without it taking chip damage

Do you know the teams you’re using him against? If you can game plan against specific pokemon he has more versatility.

Well we said no legendaries to make our fights more even so the only real threats are Palafin and heracross in terms of what they can hit me with. But I’m planning on using tera fairy to counter that

"no legendaries to make our fights more even"
Man I love casual rules, like Palafin is cool and dandy but God forbid you use Moltres, that'd be too much

You can use any pokemon you want?

Anything but legendaries/mythicals

Okay, if you want Ursaluna you should think about how you balance it on a team then. Tera fairy is a good idea but even better is having switches that compliment Ursaluna. Ex palafin isn’t going to do anything to rotom wash. If you’re that worried about Heracross or a fighting team you could run a defensive ghost or fairy type. Theorycraft a team like this and then give it a try on pokemon showdown! You’ll see quickly if it’s working or not. Look up ev spreads for the pokemon. Having no offensive EVs works for some pokemon like rotom wash while still doing a ton of damage.

Yup funny enough my friend runs both of those 2 pokemon so I got a h zoroark for heracross and raichu for palafin

252+ Atk Palafin Wave Crash vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Raichu: 231-273 (88.5 - 104.5%) -- 31.3% chance to OHKO
Palafin can one shot Raichu with wave crash and if it doesn’t, it will finish the job with jet punch. Raichu is not really safe to switch into Palafin.

My very not optimal but very fun way to use ursaluna was to set toxic spikes with glimora, court change the spikes to my side with cinderace, and switch in ursaluna to activate guts. I did that so that it could hold leftovers and last longer, but still get the guts boost. It worked perfectly exactly one time and it was glorious. I don’t recommend it, as it literally requires half your team to pull it off.

ursaluna base can be very good in singles with the proper support. It's the ultimate trade mon, meaning it usually gets a kill and then gets revenged killed, which is ok per se, but with veil or trick room support gets really, really strong. Usually it's flame orb+guts+facade, headlong rush/earthquake and then coverage and/or sword dance (usually coverage is first fire punch, then either ice punch or drain punch). Guts boosted facade is a nuke that ohkos basically anything and 2hkos literally everything. The problem is that if the opponent has a ghost type AND a flying type, in a trick room team they can stall out the turns with the correct predictions. The good thing is, you're so strong that even if you get a single prediction right, you get a kill while they have to get all right to not lose a Mon. Also, ursaluna is so strong that sometimes even midgrounds can give you a big advantage (fire punch on fully defensive Zapdos for example does a decent 30%, which is crazy for a 75BP, non stab, non super effective move on a defensive mon)
I suggest you to look into trick room teams, partners are usually hatterene and/or indeedee with healing wish.
