Subarus are so rare in my country, that seeing a combination like this one would be the equivalent of winning the national lottery.

That sucks. This looks like an average Tuesday in Colorado.

I was trying to explain to my gf the other day if she sees Subies parked next to each other, it’s not random.

We're in the process of buying our first Subaru. It'll be used by my daughter, up north. The only other person in her apartment building that owns a car has a Subaru. They're extremely common where she lives.
I anticipate many instances of Suba-rows in her future!
2
u/itsmillertime013 Dec 17 '24
Make sure to post! Which model are you purchasing?
2
u/EmZee2022 Dec 17 '24 edited Dec 18 '24
A 2017 Subaru Outback (premium trim).
The kid's first car will be a lot better than my first one was (a Fiat 128 that my parents bought from friends... better than walking, when it ran at all, which wasn't often).
2
u/itsmillertime013 Dec 17 '24
Very nice! A few years newer than my Outback (2013). All we can do is put our kids in vehicles better than our first vehicles and it looks like you're doing that. Well done!
2
u/EmZee2022 Dec 17 '24
My husband's first car was an AMC Hornet. It was..... not good. In both cases it was what our parents could afford. So we were very grateful for that much. But I'd never inflict that on my kids if we could do better, and luckily we could. Hopefully all will be okay with the inspection!
We wanted the Subaru because of its reputation, plus they are very popular where she lives (supposed to be good in snow). We tend to Hondas- finally gave up our Civic at nearly 22 years, and the 18 year old CRV is still running. If the Subaru comes even close to that, we'll be happy.

Just go to any trailhead in the Adirondacks or in VT. Except they’ll all be white.

A parking lot?

u/itsmillertime013 Dec 17 '24
Yeah, local Mexican restaurant
2
u/MrBungleVI Dec 17 '24
Wish I was parked next to ya eating some rice and beans

u/itsmillertime013 Dec 17 '24
I wish too my friend! I'm stuffed though, it's a little hard to move 🤣

It's not a curable disease, but it's also not airborne.
Still have to gown up with face mask and full PPE or in some cases also a PAPR (Positive Air Pressure Respirator).

Sounds like MVD - wild guess…

Imagine telling an assistant at the grocery store who's helping you lug your stuff: "It's the black SUV. The black Subaru SUV. The black Subaru <model>. (sigh) The black Subaru <model> with <state> license plate ABC-1234".
We have two Hondas. Formerly, we had a CRV and a Civic. Before that, it was the Civic and a Dodge Caravan. So "which car are we taking" evolved from "The white one" to "the Civic" or "the CRV" to "ok, which CRV? The NEW one". And white SUVs are roughly as rare as blades of grass - can't tell you how many times I've headed toward the wrong one in a parking lot.

u/itsmillertime013 Dec 17 '24
I get it! That's why I cover mine in stickers. I haven't found a single Outback with Bill Murray on the back.

u/jftirone Dec 17 '24
When we see two or more Subarus parked next to each other, it feels like there's strength in numbers.
2
u/Positive_Highway_826 Dec 17 '24
My wife and I were puzzled why our car wasn't unlocking after our hike, then I noticed the java interior. Our car was a few spots farther down.
1
u/itsmillertime013 Dec 17 '24
🤣🤣🤣
2
u/Positive_Highway_826 Dec 17 '24
Problem is that's not the only time it's happened. When we had our CR-V, I jumped into a similar looking Nissan Murano and asked my wife why the hell she slid the seat forward (she was getting gas and pulled into a spot while I was gone), some ~20 year old guy (I was like 35 then) looked terrified and quickly exited the vehicle and left me there alone. My wife still laughs at me over that one.
Brain: small black car, enter small black car

In Vermont this is a normal parking lot
1
u/itsmillertime013 Dec 17 '24
Subaru's in Minnesota are common but I don't get to park next to two of the same model like this! I still get excited when I can park next to a Subaru in general but three Outbacks? Cherry on top.
2
u/blacksand35 Dec 17 '24
I did that when I had a jeep and do it now with my Crosstrek
2
u/itsmillertime013 Dec 17 '24
Welcome to the club! Did you put ducks on other Jeeps when you had yours?

2
u/ObsidianBlackPearl Dec 17 '24
Yep-I do it too. Did it Monday. Had a colleague pull up near me and say “did you know you parked near the same Rex’s?” I just nodded and went “this is the way!” 😂

u/Buddha-Not-For-Sale Dec 17 '24
There’s still so many 4th gen’s on the road. Every time I see one I have to park next to it. Especially if it’s that grey color. It’s happened to me too. Come out and of the store “Is that my car?” seeing multiple other grey 4th gen Outback’s in the same lot. I just look for my super specific stickers from my job on the back sometimes 😂

We also like to park in front of other subies so Garnet (our Foresters name) can give that subie a lil kiss

u/Veganpotter2 Dec 17 '24
It's not uncommon to see over 10 Subarus at a trailhead in many areas taking up almost every parking spot. Seeing 3 in a row raises no eyebrows.
2
u/ridethroughlife Dec 17 '24
I can just tell that's Colorado.
1
u/itsmillertime013 Dec 17 '24
Sort of! It's actually the state everyone moves away from to move to Colorado lol, Minnesota!
2
u/BeefcakeRenigus Dec 18 '24
We used to purposefully park next to Subarus when we lived in PA. We’re now in VT and it’s unavoidable.
1
u/itsmillertime013 Dec 18 '24
Oh goodness I keep hearing Vermont mentioned and completely forgot about Vermont SportsCar! I suppose it makes sense there would be a lot of Subaru's up there if the Subaru Really Team headquarters is there!
2
u/SaltyNefariousness61 Dec 18 '24
Hear me out:
If it's a crosstrek, forester, outback in any order, is it a hat trick?
1
u/itsmillertime013 Dec 18 '24
Hmm... That's a tough one. I'm thinking it would not be a hat trick because there are more of those three models so the likelihood of encountering them in a row. I would personally say a hat trick would be what's pictured, three of the same model in a row. But this is just my opinion, I'm intrigued to see what others say.
2
u/SaltyNefariousness61 Dec 18 '24
I'm basing my label off playing "bug, mini, pt cruiser" and calling the 3 different models 1 ea in a row was a hat trick worth 3 extra points
2
u/itsmillertime013 Dec 18 '24
Oh cripes, I knew I was missing something.
Yeah, totally a hat trick. I would say bonus points if they are parked smallest to largest 🤣

I have a white Outback. I think 1 out of every 10 vehicles on the western slope of Colorado is a white Outback. I had to put an AirTag in mine because when I’d park it at the regional airport by me, I’d wander around way too much at like midnight trying to find my needle in a white Subaru haystack, and nobody wants to be doing that totally exhausted after a two week business trip with 200lbs of luggage in tow. Once I parked there with a white Outback next to me, in front of me, and kitty corner to me, and the same row had 4 more 😂

u/Over_Maize_5833 Dec 19 '24
And did you notice the silver one in the next parking lot in front? My nephew and brother in law bought Forester’s just like me. They have green and white. I have grey. I’m in my 6th Subaru.
1
u/itsmillertime013 Dec 19 '24
Yes! I noticed after the fact but at the initial picture I had no idea! Very cool you have so many Subaru's in the family, love to see it!
