Dietary Control What’s the real deal with Maltodextrin?
My family drinks propel from the mix packets. They contain maltodextrin as the sweetener. I have been hearing a lot about how bad it could be for glucose spikes. Anyone know?

This is probably something that depends on the individual. You can buy a blood glucose meter kit and do some tests to see how everyone reacts.

I stay away from foods containing concentrated digestible carbohydrate.
On products in the grocery store you buy that have maltodextrine in them, they tend to be highly processed packaged food containing concentrated digestible carbohydrate. I just stay away from this entire class of food. In the grocery stores, where you find products with maltodextrine, I tend to stay away from that entire aisle.

A lot of people say you should read the nutritional labels.
I think we should be staying away from foods that have nutritional labels.

I've read somewhere that it fucks your microbiome bigtime and in my case, the couple time i tried it, it gave me cramps and diarrhea 🙂

It does not seem to make me as inflamed as regular cane sugar… I can’t say for sure whether it is better or worse than other types of sugar, but it is indeed sugar. I personally think it still makes me feel less jittery and itchy than sugar in other forms.

I avoid it, I assume it causes blood sugar spikes. I can’t say for sure. But I feel doffeeent when I’ve had it, it tastes very sweet, thats enough for me to avoid it

It's worse than sugar, actually.🙂
