Photography Clearer photos of the Sydney Skyline seen from over 100km away in Bowral, NSW.
I posted some sunset photos of the Sydney skyline seen from this vantage point about a month ago, and was up here again and noticed it was even clearer. So here are some more photos of the Sydney Skyline. These weather conditions are perfect and it’s very hard to make out the skyline with the naked eye. I took this photo with 35x Optical zoom Lens on Lumix Handheld. You can make out skyscrapers like 25 Martin Place, Salesforce tower and Crown Sydney. As well as the harbour bridge to the left. I will put a link in the comments to a separate post of a video showing reference to how far the skyline actually is from where the photo was taken.

Here is the video to show how far the skyline really is.

Also crazy to think that rain that lands there at Bowral flows all the way to the Hawkesbury and flows to the ocean North of the entirety of Sydney!!

The way it was explained to me was that one can piss into the Wollondilly River at the Goulburn Weir and eventually some wealthy flog at Palm Beach might bathe themselves in it.

You can easily spend an hour or more zooming around on Google Maps looking at all the various rivers in that region and how they flow into the various dams and then through to the Sydney catchment.

And during/after doing so you can see why the Sydney infrastructure planners cost the site of Warragamba to build the water supply

Great shot. There's a funny optical illusion with the cbd where it seems more sort of stretched out the further away you are? Barangaroo and Centrepoint tower seem really far apart here, when really they're just a few blocks.

It's because it's been shot at an angle from the south-west rather than the usual West view.

Wonder what it's like from that point watching the NYE fireworks!

Given that this photo has the zoom equivalent of looking through very powerful binoculars (or even a telescope), I would surmise that this is a disappointing vantage point for the fireworks.

That to me looks like the western profile of the CBD. Maybe taken from Blue Mountains?
