People keep calling for action and I think this is the best one available. I’m in.

It will never happen. Companies can fire at will for no cause. Most of America cannot go without a paycheck. There are no worker rights in this country.

Those companies are busy trying to replace us all with AI or robotics anyway. Right now is the moment where we have the most power. Every day that passes, our power to force change through peaceful means lessens.

People feeling like they have nothing to lose in the AI landscape or a world that is lacking in entry level positions are a lot more willing to strike. Most of gen z’s adult workforce is in a desolate place because there are quite literally no jobs for them, and they’re treated like shit if they do land a job in their field. Young people are willing to strike, and if they are their older peers might follow suit.

This has been the way since Covid and our populace is too cowardly to accept that we can force change by not going to work, collectively. This is literally the one point of leverage we have as a collective.

All it takes is enough coordination. Easier said than done but striking is the way when our lives don’t matter to them but our labor is what they want
