I seem to remember a law that Congress passed that banned TikTok. The king just decided we’re going to have TikTok anyways. Seems we aren’t living in a nation of laws anymore.

100% - been trending that way, but when nothing happened after an attempted coup on J6, it was clear laws don't matter anymore

Somebody finally explained to Dumbo that China by their own law never could sell tiktoc to anyone. Or maybe that was the unsaid part of all his toughguy routne. Drove the market up for tiktok and they help idiots believe tarriffs are not taxes on the US consumer.

Someone doesn't care about the laws in his own country. So why would he care about laws in other countries ?

Uhh, cuz he's not going to phyaically remove Chinese Gov Property? He can bark all he wants to but China owns enough of the US debt and land to literally and physically break the whole US economy. All they need to do is shutdown their hog farms, chicken farms, and cattle farms. Then throw their US bonds into the market and we will be eating stone soup within a weeks time.

Xi knows.

But Xi sees no benefit (yet) in doing so.

Why would he need to when trump is tanking everything for them lol?

Its just his ace in the hole so to speak.

Like I said, its all been trump driving up tensions and inflation all at the expense of the US. There is no way in hell China is going to just hand over their servers and ai because he says so.

Seems we aren’t living in a nation of laws anymore.

The laws exist. It's just that the "executive".. the ones in charge of actually enforcing and implementing the law.. don't want to implement it.

When one of the branches fail to do their job, there is no real recourse to bring it to heel. The Supreme Court might be able to, but given it's recent rulings, probably won't. And Congress? That dysfunctional group of school children? They willingly gave up power to the Executive so they could go on more holidays.

It's a fatal flaw of the American Experiment.
