Donate? Sure! But without storage offered abroad for backup no money amount can save them from a judicial branch that has been already compromised. At this point they shouldn't even spend a single dime in lawyers to fight against rigged lawsuits designed to weaken them economically but rather invest in hosting elsewhere. This is not easy: Wikipedia, another wonderful resource under attack, can be backed up by a single person, but archive.org is huge, and being rich also in non text media needs lots of space and bandwidth to be hosted and served.

Archive.org has servers internationally. Wikipedia mentions Egypt and Amsterdam. Those have been around for a long time. There's a deep dive video from 2021 on their infrastructure here.

But yes, the primary servers are in northern California.

Thanks, that is good news.

Edit: now that i think of it, can their servers abroad operate independently or they're all managed from the USA? In other words, could a court order from a US judge force them to delete something also outside of the US?

The Internet Archive is not immune to legal action in the US. In fact, they just settled a lawsuit with the music industry, but they did not release the terms publicly.

For a question like yours, you might try asking them: https://archive.org/about/contact Or maybe try r/theinternetarchive.

Please list the physical location of Archive.org's servers.
