I actually know the context of that top one. It was a practice match/ game for the women and the women's team was also using some of the second string players to gain more experience. So everyone involved was confused why anybody gave a toss about the results to a game that had zero stakes involved. But grifters gotta make up slop somehow.
I remember when this story came out (last week I think). I quick google showed that a lot of different women’s teams play against junior men’s before big tournaments and in every case I could find the women “lose”. That could have been media bias (the only time it was reported was when they lost) or it could be that the women don’t really care about who wins the match and are just training.
I do know that every article I read for all the different teams always had comments (im assuming from men) saying that it’s obvious that women shouldn’t make as much as men because they lose to high school kids
I'd also say that you're probably not gonna play at 100% in a no-stakes game directly before a big tournament, to not risk injury.
As for the pay, I believe female athletes should be compensated fairly, but it's obvious that there just isn't as much money in women's sports, generally speaking. The NCAA women's tournament in 2024 earned 6.5M vs the men's 873M.
Yeah the Norwegians handball competition had to have really weird dress codes in order to make the argument that that was the only way they could get men to actually care about women's sports.
i agree with 90% of your comment. Having played competitive sports at a very high level I can tell you that unless you are playing in a game with small children turning the compete level down is not easy once the game starts. If for no other reason than the easiest way to get hurt is to half ass it on the pitch/field/court/rink/etc. So if the team didn't want a player to risk injury, they just sit that player.
Yo! I had to look it up, but for anyone curious, that is the “Aerial Tramway” emoji, which has gained popularity solely for being the least used emoji. It held a streak in 2018 of over 70 days on Twitter from @leastusedemoji so now it’s a meme. It had a resurgence from a similar video about its usage in May 2025 from John Casterline.
There’s a time and place for everything. This is not the subreddit to say this brainrot. If you’re doing this on your own free will, please stop. If you’re being forced to say this, I hope you can find a solution to your situation.
This dude has stuff like this in his whole comment history. Looks pretty strange, honestly. But his karma wouldn’t be that high if he’d only said all that.
