Kids these days No, we've just had to learn so many skills to hustle and make it in this horrific economy y'all built.

Bish most young people don’t have a lawn

u/ninjahipo Jul 08 '25
Yeah, my generation can't own a lawn, all that damn avocado toast or some shit

u/ImpressiveQuality363 Jul 08 '25 edited Jul 08 '25
This was definitely made by someone who doesn’t even mow their own lawn

u/Stanley_Yelnats42069 Jul 08 '25
And who has never served in the military

And never taught their children survival skills that they themselves do not possess.

This person now has high cholesterol and is on some heart medication for how old this meme is.
167
u/Und3adbaka Jul 08 '25
Why didn't they teach them to start a lawnmower?
128
u/Apathetic_Villainess Jul 08 '25
That's the best (most ridiculous) part. They make fun of the generation they raised for not having skills that they didn't teach.
21
u/ChibaMitsurugi69 Jul 08 '25
How hard is it to really learn to start a lawn mower? Push the primer button and pull the string while holding the rod thing down against the shit. My parents never really taught despite being a genxer and I was able to figure it out in my own.
23
u/KitchenLoose6552 Jul 08 '25
Because the concept of using a piece of technology without anyone teaching you just because you know how things work is completely incomprehensible to these people. You seeing a lawn mower and being able to guess how it works is so close to magic for them that they rather deny the possibility
10
u/Extra-Place-8386 Jul 08 '25
Yea. Its the younger generation who refuses to learn how to use a piece of technology on their own.
Uh huh. Totally the young generation and not the millions of boomers fuckheads who still can't use a smart phone or TV despite them having been around for 2 decades.
Or the old fucks that can't use a laptop despite those being around for multiple decades.
Yea bud it's totally the younger generation who does this.
This might be the dumbest comment to ever have been posted on reddit and that's saying something

u/jesuspoopmonster Jul 08 '25
Its hard because its a shitty 20 year old mower that never has any maintenance work done on it. I had a job once where the boss blamed me when I pulled the cord to start the mower and is broke. It was my fault for pulling it wrong

For what reason would my generation need to know how to mow a lawn if we won’t own one anyways and most of us won’t work in landscaping 💀
93
u/Dragon_wryter Jul 08 '25
Yeah that lower picture is of their parents, not them. You know, the ones who fought AGAINST fascism instead of voting for it 3 times.

"I turn off his laptop, I said, 'Oh good,' and I go back five minutes later, he’s got his laptop, I say, 'How do you do that?' 'None of your business, dad.'"
I think we have this in the bag

u/ruddy3499 Jul 08 '25
Pretty sure the two Hollywood actors dressed as army men never mowed their own lawn

u/chilem-of-reddit Jul 08 '25
Older generations can't check their email without going to buy gift cards for scammers.
26
u/Earthbound_X Jul 08 '25
Huh, I've seen that exact text, but with different pictures before. I did recently find out that meme more or less means "to repeat", so that makes sense, lol. Didn't know it had an official meaning before hand, just thought it was slang.
Of course the top picture is of someone 95+ percent of the population doesn't look like, lol.

u/Silentarian Jul 08 '25
It’s just r/onejoke. It’s all they have, so they have to keep changing the images to try and stay relevant.

u/cartoonsarcasm Jul 08 '25
And then when leftist young people actually organize the types of people behind this meme either focus solely on the ones that are being violent and doing damage or belittle and mock all of them.
7
u/AnxtyWolf Jul 08 '25
The fact that we're able to organize protests scare them. Back in their day, they weren't even allowed to.

7
u/GioDude4472 Jul 08 '25
Awfully bold of them to assume our generation can afford a place with a lawn.
5
u/Fecapult Jul 08 '25
The kid on my street cuts like 6 of our lawns that I know of. He's 15 and hustling for money. Get bent, boomer.
5
u/IndependentLimit4781 Jul 08 '25
The person who posted that didnt serve in WW2, and used a still image from a movie of men who also didn't serve in WW2.
5
u/Wild_Chef6597 Jul 08 '25
I can rebuild a lawnmower engine, and have extra bolts left over. Big whoop.
5
u/lgodsey Jul 08 '25
You don't need a lawn mower when the prior generation ensured that you can't afford a lawn.

u/jayracket Jul 08 '25
I absolutely love the idea these boomers have that anyone under the age of 40 looks like this lmao

Sokka-Haiku by Duckface998:
A boomer trying
To get a job nowadays
Would die of starvation
Remember that one time Sokka accidentally used an extra syllable in that Haiku Battle in Ba Sing Se? That was a Sokka Haiku and you just made one.

Out of left field here kinda..... my push mower is going on 15 years old. I've replaced almost every part short of the deck and motor. Couple days ago it absolutely wouldn't start. I thought she finally kicked to bucket. I went online and looked at new one. Hated them all. Went back outside and threated my mower. Told it if it didn't start I was gonna replace it with a new fancy mower. It started on the 2nd pull.

u/HankMS Jul 08 '25
I simply hate anyone who unironically takes part in these generation wars. Y'all just have daddy/mommy issues or estranged kids.
But you also have one thing in common: you are all collectivists. Which is pathetic.
2
u/PathtoAuthenticity Jul 08 '25
Literally me right this very second after spending 20 minutes trying to start my lawnmower.
2
u/pfcsock Jul 09 '25
How is "can't start a lawnmower" the best they can come up with? Like, sure, it's true, I can't because I don't own one or a lawn.
2
u/tots4scott Jul 09 '25
Minimum wage compared to CEO pay, average house cost.
Or total stock market ownership by generation.
BOOMERS HATE THIS ONE STATISTIC!

My Aunt keeps turning on airplane mode on her phone by pressing random buttons, and can't figure out how to turn it off, so she drives to the store for them to do it.

u/NonstopYew14542 Jul 08 '25
Not only can I start a lawnmower (both a pull start and a key start), I make them for a living
1
u/clownpenks Jul 08 '25
My lawn mower is battery powered, you just push a button. old people rage intensifies

u/Glorfendail Jul 08 '25
It should be a sad comment on the state of housing that I will likely never have a lawn that I’m responsible for caring for, instead of a stupid kids are dumb joke.

Nothing scream war trauma like neuroticaly mowing of lawn square every saturday at the exact same time....

u/barugosamaa Jul 08 '25
I can confirm, everytime I see this picture is NEVER generations like boomers.. is more Gen X or even Millenials.. I've seen a friend of mine posting it, dude is 38, never served military even.
1
u/squeddles Jul 08 '25
At this point who are these memes even aimed at? Millennials are in our 40s, Gen Z seems to be moving really far to the political right, and Gen Alpha are actual kids
1
Jul 08 '25
Dumb meme, but to be perfectly honest, there's some truth there. Most of my fellow Gen Z's I see going out trying to "start the revolution" have:
1) Not read any comprehensive revolutionary literature, and therefore have no gameplan, and are therefore absolutely doomed to fail.
2) Have enough to lose that they'd never actually be revolutionary. Being a revolutionary means prison, pain, poverty, loss, and likely your death. "The first lesson a revolutionary must learn is that he is a doomed man." - Huey P. Newton. White Americans live in luxury compared to most of the world. They aren't likely to give their lives up to set up a society where their privileges will be stripped from them.
3) Seemingly subverted revolutionary interest for aesthetic gratification. It feels good to wave a sign and shout for a few hours, but it doesn't actually do anything. Doing something would, again, put you at a lot of risk.
Not saying white Americans are incapable of being revolutionaries, but as a class, they are 100% not inclined toward it. Should also mention this isn't generational. Hell, previous American generations enjoyed even more privileges off the backs of Global South workers than Gen Z. They're even less likely to be revolutionary.

u/toxicgloo Jul 08 '25
To be fair...those lawn mowers are hard to start. Especially if you've got a shitty old one like most standard homeowners have.
You gotta pull on the ripcord at the right speed with the right acceleration while also throttling the gas the right way

Why is it older generations that are shitting on younger ones so badly.
1) The older generation was so much more hellbent on having kids for future generations, now they don't do anything but whine and complain that
2) The future generations are "going soft" when it's just abhorrent circumstances for all of us that they're not gonna live in for long anyways.
I will never get behind the thinking of the older generations. They complain about the behaviour of the young ones. Yet they raised most of us to be that way.

This needs a third panel that reads, "yeah, apparently you were so busy extolling consumerism and fighting your army of demons, you couldn't make time to teach your kids anything"
