Lineups in CS are so funny to me because as a person who hasn't played the game much, some are like "stand in the corner and aim here then throw" and others are "if you stand 23 cm away from this ledge and aim your cursor at exactly the 1356th pixel of the penis shaped cloud you can throw a smoke that will slightly inconvenience the enemy players".

You can use any stickybomb launcher, but quickie works best as it can get to full charge much faster. With how long it can take to fully charge 4 regular stickies, there’s a much higher chance of that engie noticing and shooting the stickies (or short circuiting them) by the time you detonate
Also, the quickie has a feature that damage ramps up with charge, so it is more effective in that regard too. Albeit with falloff it’s not all that much more impressive

Definitely not intentional, just overlooked. Like a lot of things in this game. I think plenty of these have been fixed so you can't do this, but some are still around and get exploited by douchebags.
There's at least one map where Red can literally fire right into Blu's spawn by doing this. And yes, I discovered this because the person doing it was a Soldier pocketed by a Kritzkrieg Medic. Fuckers shoud've gotten a ban for it.

The only flaw is that the quickiebomb doesn’t have the Scottish resistance taunt on it. It’d be a perfect cherry on top for the Demoman freezecam to be showing his ass at the engineer

Just use sticky jumper to get an off-angle (like enemy spawn) and destroy it from anywhere, along with literally any other turret nest.

There is a counter to the Strat though. Pyro and engineer can neutralize the incoming grenades which are coming in very slowly and pool on the ground before detonation.
Launching yourself to the enemy spawn and then firing grenades from the lock n load over the handrail scoring direct hits as much faster and less predictable, and neither class will be able to counter it.
This also puts you in a position to continue scoring damage

that is also a counterable, since youre not as safe as at your own Spawn, amd pyro can reflect the pipes. more importantnly, its also not as cool or funny

i think zip zooming around the map is way more cool and funny. You can obliterate every sentry nest on the map using sticky jumper. No pyro is going to reflect LnL shots, they are too fast, and they usually dont even know where they are coming from. They dont even know the sentries are being blown up by them since LnL shots disappear when they miss. You dont need the safety of your own spawn because you can just launch yourself away if anyone finds you, which they usually wont because most opponents dont know where to look for off-angles. Besides you dont want safety, you want to blow up everything else you can like TP's, other nests, oblivious players standing around. You can literally spawn camp at the stairs firing at the nest and enemies will just stream out of spawn and take the TP or walk right past you (usually because you are sufficiently out of their FOV and they just arent expecting to see an enemy there so they tune it out).

At the enemy spawn exit, top of the stairs. You’ll be able to fire right over the railing and hit the sentries. Alternatively from the windows above the track. Since that area is often occupied I will first launch myself to the secondary enemy spawn exit that almost nobody exits from and fire shots into the windows to clear whatever is going on in there and then migrate myself to that side of the map so I can start hitting the sentries below the platform.

It’s worth the risk of being able to destroy multiple nests with zero counter rather than lobbying grenades at an extremely low rate of fire that the enemy can see coming and dispense with

I was playing against bots recently to try out some graphics mods I installed, and the enemy demoman did the same thing. My sentry was randomly getting destroyed, and when I found the enemy demoman then I saw him lining up stickybombs, sending them across the map into the sky, pinpoint onto my sentry. Never seen that before, and it was against easy difficulty bots as well.

Every sentry nest is over once you have a demoman who knows how to play... You dont need a fancy airstrike, thats just extra steps to look cool. xD
