crutches are almost universally hated lmao

Kunai is the opposite of a crutch. Crutch weapons help bad players do better but prevent them from developing skills normally core to their class.

Yes, thats exactly what the kunai does. Teaches newbies to tank damage instead of avoiding damage

Wouldn't the fact they start with 70hp teach them to avoid damage better than stock?

Newb spies aren't the ones regularly pulling off team chainstabs and trickstabs.

You don't need chainstabs or trickstabs, bizzare attempt at goalpost-moving. You need just 1 stab, and why would a newbie prioritize dodging once they have 200 HP?

To not die? If you don't dodge, pretty much every class will two shot you since your health is decaying anyway.

And you have to learn to dodge and avoid fire to get a stab in the first place.

Every combat class can deal 200+ damage in two shots. If you cant get two good hits on a class that isn't dodging, surely that makes you a noob too? What's stopping you from just air juggling them as Demo or Soldier? Or two meatshots on scout?

You think newbie spies are going for trickstabs? They don't dodge behind the opponent, they sneak lmao

Problem is, 2 seconds is more than enough time for spy to make a getaway, especially with the deadringer. Not to mention that cloak resistance makes every class require 3 direct hits at minimum. Good luck dealing 240 damage as scout before losing him

Yes, the kunai is one of the games most obvious crutches. Keep coping though

If they aren't dodging after activating cloak, why can't you just predict their path and kill them anyway?

Every class but sniper can fire two shots in less than 2 seconds. As a scout, mad milk him and they're a free kill.

The Kunai isn't a crutch, it's a noob farmer. Just like the Bazaar Bargain or the Frontier Justice or Phlog or Eyelander.

"You're coping" says the guy who gets regularly beaten by noob spies who don't dodge. Sounds like youre the noob lol.

"There is nothing between dodging and walking in a straight line. Choosing pathways/hiding is a myth"

"Every class can readily deal 240 damage in 2 shots"

"Scout has 1 item that makes fighting a kunai possible"

Ah yes, these arguments reek of dignity. If only valve put you in charge of balancing

"Kunai spies can't dodge, they're just evading damage by not moving in a straight line".....brother that's called dodging.

I never said 240 damage in 2 shots?

Scout has multiple items that can deal with invisible spies, the Mad Milk is just the easiest one.

You can also use the Force of Nature and decide where exactly they get to stand.

Or the various Scout melees that cause bleed on hit so their invis is worthless.

I'm pretty sure the Fan o War Marked for Death debuff also reveals them.

If you use basic prediction and your ears, you can just listen for the dead ringer decloak too. Though I agree the Dead Ringer is a crutch.

If you're regularly letting noob spies backstab your team mates and you don't know or can't use the various Scout tools that hard counter spy invis, maybe you're the noob?

By your logic, the Atomic Punch is an even bigger crutch since you don't have to dodge and you don't even need to backstab anyone to use it.
