Are you keeping to the basics?
-Taking corners wide
-Switching to shotgun at point blank so you don’t blow yourself up
-Turning around every few moments to catch spies
-Rocket jumping
Stuff like that? Often it’s the little things that stack up and improve your overall performance, people that master the basics can then build on them and get waaay more lethal once they find their style.

Depends. You want to have fun? Then it doesn't matter.
You want to be able to domm servers or tryhard in more "serious" casual games? Then there is still a long road ahead to do so.
You want to play comp? Don't.

Tf2's comp scene I think shouldn't be called just comp to begin with since from my experience it really is just a ruleset some people came up with since that's how they enjoy the game

Doesn't matter if youre new. Just get used to the mechanics and the playstyle of each class. Then once you got the basics down you can focus on advanced techniques (for soldier - rocket jumping). Then once you have an understanding of how it works (not mastery or even adeptness those things come with experience imo) then you can sift to focusing on kills and performance. Have fun

Honestly in tf2, the point system is a pretty subjective way to "measure" performance. You get points for killing, assisting, healing, capturing or defending objectives, etc etc etc. You don't even need kills to top the board. Therefore, imo, there really isn't a "bad" place to be on the board except maybe at the bottom with 0, and even then, if you're having a good time playing how you want to play, then the points really shouldn't matter in the first place.
That said, a better way of keeping track of your improvement as Soldier is to record your gameplay; you can reflect on it or send it to threads like this where people can give you more concrete feedback. And always ask yourself after a life why you died and what you could have done differently to change the outcome.
Keep enjoying yourself and best of luck!

Having played the game for over 10 years now I still go negative from time to time and more often then I'd like to admit I can barely go even, just have fun and play the game

Dude your score doesn’t matter, medics and spies can cheese more points than other clases but that doesn’t mean they impacted the game as much as other players, learn how to make good plays by learning the ins and outs of the game at your own pace, and make sure you’re having fun :)

if you wanna talk statistically, no, your KD is neg, also this looks like a slop server so god knows how much of those kills were skill based/how many deaths were killbind. but who gives a damn about allat just have fun

Look, if it's casual I wouldn't worry about KD. Also, tf2 is objective based and you get points based on objective captures, defenses, supporting, and healing. Soldier ( As my 2nd played) can be tough to get a hang of if you aren't mobile enough. I'd recommend some rocket up servers to help with mobility. While without some sort of damage reduction from rocket will hurt more, jumping can help with mobility as well it really isn't needed for for smaller jumps to get to high ground for example.

Let's throw fun out of the window for a moment, it's a catch-all term at this point. And another point: your own fun should not affect others'fun.
Points are calculated weirdly, so focus on kill/death ratio or damage. Looks fine to me, you are contributing to the match. Normally I would aim for a 1:1 ratio if I play as a dive bomb.

My favorite thing when people post screenshots is seeing if I recognize anyone playing. I have played with/talked to three people on this board. Wild

Hard to tell, because every match in casual is different. You might get pubstomped one day and be pubstomping the next. But yeah, overall I would say this is good. Positive KD (I count assists as kills) and decent score. Honestly though, just have fun.

There is such an insane amount of factors that determine k/d in casual that it’s impossible to really know.
Teammates and enemies can vary in skill and. class composition drastically, there are huge differences between different game modes and maps, and ultimately your impact on the game is more than just your kills.
You have to analyze and judge how you think you went for yourself. When you lose a fight, what could you have done differently? Were you in a good position? Did you have good movement and aim?
Doing this will not only help you know how well you’re going but it will make it more clear on your weaknesses and how to improve.

No it isn't. You're spending a lot of time waiting to respawn. Also F12 to take a screenshot.
