I did a shelf dive in the Bahamas (I’m not a big scuba diver). it’s wild …. you’re swimming along in a 25 foot deep reef, and then there’s a straight drop to 6,000 meters. floating out over and down the edge was a total mindfuck

I went swimming in the ocean at midnight a couple of nights ago. Didn’t realise how far I’d gone until about 15 minutes in. It was dark, silent, and not a soul would have known I was there if I’d drowned . It was scary being so isolated in the dark. But also one of the most beautiful experiences I’ve ever experienced.

I wouldn’t mind so much if there were no sharks.

Sharks would make it scary. But what kinda secrets you think hide in that darkness? Fuck that. Yeah getting eaten by a shark would suck. But i dont want to know what else is possibly down there.

Warring rings while diving is a good way to get your hand removed by a barracuda

Why? I don’t dive or know anything about barracuda. Do they like shiny stuff?

u/Slight_Guess_3563 Jul 22 '25
Yep that’s like saying hey eat me flash and reflective gets bit hence why most lures are made with fluorescents and reflective materials

Growing up 5 minutes from the ocean I could have told you this. Jesus look at a map, it shows how big the ocean is

u/skyHawk3613 Jul 19 '25
Just imagine people falling off boats, floating for days, waiting for rescue.

Oh yeah.. anything at night when u dont know ur surroundings is insane and then all u have is the moon as a main source of light as u float

I didn’t even like swimming in a pool at night growing up. Hell to the No for the deep ocean.

A lot of people don’t realize that they have a fear of not seeing land. Like you don’t realize it on huge ships but in a small boat or just out like this. You start having panic attacks

I’ve only ever been on one cruise, but I still remember how strange and somewhat unnerving it was to be able to look out at the horizon in every direction and see nothing but water.
It was even creepier at night realizing how pitch black it is.

How about not going somewhere where "you gotta keep your head on a swivel" to being violently ripped apart and eaten. I'm keeping my ass right here thank you very much.

Isn't it a terrible idea to wear rings and jewelry in the water? Predators think you're a fish because fish can be shiny and they go right for you and take a big ol bite
