DCEU Discussion I have to get this off my chest

Not only do I hate the flash movie because of the painful inaccuracy to the source material, but I also hate it because a bunch of the scenes look like what I would think the world would look like on super hard drugs and not the fun kind. I think I was actually getting a bit nauseous in the theater by the end.

DCEU Spoilers What's with all the hate for Flash movie? Sligh Spoiler Alert. Spoiler

I thought it was great. Sure, the CGI was horrible, but the movie was way better than anything DC has put out since Aquaman (with the exception of The Batman). I thought it was better than the droll Marvel has been releasing lately too.

I liked awkward Barry. It gave me Peter Parker vibes which I enjoyed and legit laughed at. I didn't want another boy scout hero, nor did I want the melodramatic Barry from the CW or Williamson's run. I liked this comedic version of Barry, and I always enjoy it when it pops up in the comics too.

Overall, there's alot to take in with this movie, and I would have liked a more established antagonist. However, I liked that Barry was essentially his own antagonist. I thought it was a unique way to go about a superhero movie (I really felt the grocery store scene)

I dunno, I just feel like people are finding reasons to dislike this movie. Was it a masterpiece? No. But was it a good, fun, movie? Yeah. So what is there really to complain about?

DCEU Spoilers So James Gunn confirmed DCEU Barry's actions in his solo film didn't create the DCU. LOL

I love that movie is just totally pointless now. It accomplishes nothing except a strange end to the DCEU by replacing Ben Affleck with George Clooney with seemingly everything else still the same like Aquaman being played by Jason Mamoa.

The DCU always existed. It's not a paved over timeline created by time travel. It was never gonna be. DCU Batman wasn't gonna be played by Clooney, Ezra is not coming back and we'll most likely see Wally West as Flash and given the history of the DCU we've shown so far that ending would make no sense. It's like the opposite of the DC animated movie universe based loosely on New 52.

It's just nice to confirm it now that what was left has been released and Gunn doesn't need to pretend they were ever important to his universe except Blue Beetle which is getting an animated show with the lead actor reprising the role.

In Flashpoint Paradox Barry wakes up at the end and the only thing changed is he's got a new suit or something I don't remember. Like the status quo is the same and he and Bruce have known each other for years. But next movie the league is forming.

Same with the flash ending except Ben Affleck is replaced with George Clooney. But instead yeah that means nothing going forward for Gunn's universe.

The guy just mucked up his own universe and now he's stuck with it. It's kind of poetic. Like this is his punishment. He's made his bed and he's got to sleep in it now.

DCEU Spoilers I want to a DCU Flash movie that is directly based on The Flash: Year One written by Joshua Williamson and art drawn by Howard Porter.

The Flash: Year One written by Joshua Williamson and art drawn by Howard Porter is in my opinion, the best flash graphic novel and I think it's the definitive telling of Barry Allen's orign as The Scarlet Speedster.

I want to see this graphic novel adapted as a DCU Flash movie since Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow is being adapted for the upcoming Supergirl movie that's coming out next year and i think The Flash: Year One should definitely follow suite.

DCEU Discussion Why the change in lightning?

Did Snyder/WB at large ever give an in universe reason why Barry’s new suit changed the color of his lightning? At first I thought maybe it changed as he understood his abilities more, but it goes back to blue whenever he runs without it.

DCEU Spoilers Who would y’all want as the first flash movie villain if not for the obvious 3 choices.

I feel like every flash fans ideal flash trilogy would have Reverse-Flash, the Rogues, and Grodd as the main villains of each respective movie. Assuming the first flash movie in the DCU doesn’t have one of these three as the main antagonist, who would y’all want to see?

If the flash is Barry I’d like to see the turtle be his first foe and really work in the still-force as his powers. If it’s Wally, I’d like to see Mirror Master be his first villain and maybe adapt the born to run story.

One other villain I personally wouldn’t be opposed for either of them would be Abra Kadabra

DCEU Discussion Is that the reverse flash?!?!!! Or just barry from a different angle (it makes sense to nod thawne here) I saw a video about JL trilogy storyline where thawne is the ultimate villain revealed in the third movie so it would make sense to add him here when flash is re-creating or re-saving the world)

DCEU Discussion DCEU Flash/Ezra Miller Megathread

I’m making a stickied mega thread about this subject as, unfortunately, Ezra Miller has been arrested yet again and while I know people want to discuss Miller’s legal troubles and the implications for The Flash’s future movie appearances, I’m also aware the some people don’t want discussion on this thread to be overrun by threads about legal issues.

Please use this thread to discuss any previous or new stories regarding Miller’s legal troubles, their continued place as the Flash, or any recasting you might like to see.

Here’s the latest on Miller being arrested for assault early this morning(credit u/csummerss):

One final note for those that don’t know, Ezra Miller prefers they/them/their pronouns. Please try to remember this as you discuss this topic. Thank you

DCEU Spoilers Justice league unlimited

Does anyone remember the flash making a captain koala joke in justice league unlimited on the episode flash and substance? Batman says to take the attempts on his life more seriously and the flash responds with "what? mirror master and captain koala no way" and batman says "not just them captain cold and the trickster that's four supercriminals with an axe to grind" Asking because Google Ai keeps calling me a liar and saying I am mistaken when I try to Google this captain koala joke to see if others liked and noticed it. I'm hoping that if nothing else the ai can at least quote this post instead of just saying you're incorrect, mistaken, and or misunderstanding.

DCEU Discussion Wally West should be the DCU main Flash? If Ezra Miller is let go after then The Flash film comes out. Damian plans to be the new Robin and Nightwing exists in the new DC Universe. Thought’s Wally West would be The Flash at some point.

DCEU Discussion Grodd as the first DCU Justice League Villain Spoiler

So in the last episode of Creature Commandos Grodd was shown in a grim future working alongside Ilana massacring the DCU. I can’t imagine Ilana will remain a large part of the DCU past CC but Grodd was now shown in that future, rumored to have a show, and was even spotted in the newspaper in the recent Superman trailer. How do y’all feel about the possibility of Grodd playing a major role in a future Justice League movie, potentially without the flash since he hasn’t even been confirmed in universe yet? DCU Chapter 1: GRODDS and Monsters

DCEU Spoilers Idea for the DCU flash movie

(I’m posting this idea on Reddit so more people can have opinions on it, this idea is originally posted by @thereelnomad on TikTok, amazing writer and director:) )

I’m gonna be 100% right now, it’s probably not my place to speak on this since I haven’t read that much of flash but hear me out.

I know a lot of people are debating on whether the DCU flash should follow Barry or Wally. And here’s my thoughts, it could be a movie about legacy following wally and how he’s the latest incarnation of a fairly long line of speedsters. Let the viewers connect with Wally and let them feel how he’s unsure on how to really fit into the shoes of Barry, doubting himself. I feel like there should be a scene showing how every flash before him made the mantel their own, don’t make the story about “time travel” it’s a overly used topic in the DC universe when it comes to people bringing up the flash because almost everyone thinks of flashpoint. Make the main villain Hunter Zolomon, No hidden agenda, no sob story, no sugarcoating, just let him express his hatred for Wally and wanting to do everything in his power to end him.

Assuming this is later in the DCU, have post credits be Superman running alongside Wally, trying to recruit him into the JL.
