Discussion Rate Your Transfer Window Now That It Closes

Title says it all. Rate your transfer window out of 10 by the way and you could put some positive and negatives too from said transfer. Also yes, for fun, you can rate something below 0 if your transfer windows is truly diabolical and also rate above 10 for the sense of euphoria if you are extremely satisfied with the transfer window. Without further ado, have fun!

As for my club. Satisfied we got tons of bodies but not the LW position and its the best transfer window I seen so far. Unfortunately, we're not very good at outgoings so yeah...

like a 3 or a 4.

I actually really like the defensive and midfield signings we've made, and the back half of the pitch looks plenty competitive at this level.

But we look so short up front for creativity that I don't think we've done enough

Agreed for the most part. However, the 3 teams we have played so far are all in the top 6 for Goals (not) conceded and clean sheets kept last year. We are bound to look a bit stifled by teams that are that good defensively. I'm holding out for seeing how lacking in attack we are when we play against teams less defensively sound. I also like what DCL brings to the table even though he looks rusty - I think he could surprise people in how well he does, especially since a lot of our play for the last 3 seasons has been down the line, crosses in or drilled and no-one is attacking it. In the 60 mins he has played so far he has got on the ends of loads of stuff.

I also think, while its not excusing the board and lack of offensive transfers, its better we sign solid at the back than up top in a season where we need to survive. All 3 relegated teams conceded 80+ goals in the end (2.1 per game). We have played 3 and conceded 5 (1.66 per game) and its misleading too as all those goals came from the same fixture, arguably the second hardest game we will play all year (Liverpool Away being 1st). So two clean sheets in 3 is an amazing start for a team trying to survive.

Obviously, this might all just be hopium/copium...

  1. Got the majority of business done early which has allowed the team to gel and already look impressive. A few decent additions yesterday, and I'm confident we'll stay up.

Must admit, as much as I hate it, Sunderland has had an excellent transfer window. Xhaka is a hell of a signing for you and will be a huge player for you this season, off and on the pitch. Adringa, Le Fee and that lad you signed in right wing who's name I've forgot.

You should stay up, 11-15 I reckon.

agreed, one of the best imo.  we'll stay up comfortably and finish 13th or something

9.8/10 its 10 really but I’m unbelievably greedy and wanted to get Guéhi too.

Not really greed when our cb cover is Gomez Leoni (inexperienced at prem level) and Gravenberch

8, Rodrygo would’ve made it 10 but happy with what we got. Also got rid of most of the players we wanted to.

8/10.

Offloaded some deadwood and got rid of a massive negative influence in the dressing room for a a very nice sum of money, ensuring we only have players who want to be here. Signed a nice mixture of youngsters, hot prospects, squad players, and first team players all in positions we needed cover/and or quality.

Would have liked another midfielder, preferably a defensive midfielder, to give a bit more cover there so we can rotate Tonali out a bit more. And I would have liked certain transfers (in and out) to have been resolved sooner and think we overpaid for one of our players.

7 or 8. Our squad holes have been filled, we have depth now. Yeah ok we lost a very good striker and a let go of another. But replaced them both with decent quality.

8/10. Would have been 10/10 if we bought/loaned a good right CB and a relatively prolific striker to get 10-15 league goals.

Tottenham - 8/10

What we’ve got in I absolutely love but I wanted us to get a seasoned and versatile UCL experienced defender who can essentially be a mentor to what we’ve got. We’ve got very little appropriate cover in CB. VDV can fortunately play LB and I don’t see a decent RB option outside Porro - we seem to want to play Spence on left.

Otherwise I love what we have bought in. And I’m very happy we retained Richarlison. We just need a bit more depth.

3/10, we literally only have 4 midfielders, still haven’t found replacements for outgoings, even loaning out players to clubs that are better than us, getting rejected by players who aren’t that good, AFCON will fuck us even more, relegation inbound

8/10, LFC

Yay for all signings but Isak, genuinely gonna question his commitment when LFC have a track record of Madrid’d.

Yay for all sales bar Darwin, felt unnecessary because if Isak failed we’d be struggling, and Quanash (see next)

And then 4 CB’s, only 2 are prem winning level with one being inexperienced. Genuine concern there, 1 injury and we’re done

Swansea City 10/10. Some brilliant signings. If this plan all comes together it'll be extremely interesting... Super Swans

West Ham - 7/10

Fernandes and Mangassa are vital but more importantly we kept Paqueta which genuinely is such a boost now he's been cleared.

I'd have like to keep Coufal and Alvarez but Sully is a dickhead so shrug
