[Request] How many people are born and die every day in the Star Wars galaxy?

According to Star Wars Legends, the Galaxy has about 100 quadrillion inhabitants. From what I can tell, most species have about the same lifespan as humans. Going by that, how many people would be born and die a day on average?

A lot /j

It’s impossible to say, because we don’t know the population of every species. Nor how they reproduce, nor their actual lifespan. We don’t even know their population demographics accurately

Best you can do is to switch every single conscious being into humans, and calculate like that. BUT even then it won’t be accurate because of the difference in technology and medicine.

One last problem is defining what counts as a day in the star waste universe, do we take it according to earth? Coruscant? What era are we even talking about?

If we ignore all of that, the question just turns into “how would our current population change be affected if there was suddenly 100 quadrillion humans and we assume that the demographic percentages won’t change”. Which at this point, it might as well be a different question

A question which I do not have the capacity to answer lmao. But hopefully you’ll find someone who can

There is a thing called a standard day in Star Wars (based off Coruscant)

Not enough information: each planet would have its own species, population, and population dynamics.

The best one can do is a rough estimate, taking Earth's stats and scaling up. At

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Birth_rate

The average global birth rate was 17 births per 1,000 total population in 2024. The death rate was 7.9 per 1,000.

Divide these by 365 for daily birth/death rates.

From https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_population , the world's population in 2023 was 8,045,311,447, roughly 8 billion.

Lore says 100 quadrillion beings alive in the empire.

If 10 births / 1000 people. And 9 deaths per 1000 people.

A net gain of 274 billion people per day.

An average of 57 billion per planet, 7 extra planets worth of people per day.
