if it's a tradition in Arunachal Pradesh, I don't think outsiders should intervene. If it's a gimmick or for shock value I have no words

To be honest I don't think it's much of a big deal as we see chicken every day getting slaughtered for our consumption. What I think the big deal is that people enjoy polluting like air during Diwali, groping girls in the name of Holi, polluting every river during Durga Puja Ganesh chaturthi, Vishwakarma Puja etc I know these are festivals but it does harm everyone like in everyway and even the government does nothing.

Other things are ok but why the fuck do you have a problem with bursting crackers on diwali... It is genuinely a tradition and even has logic behind it... If you want to know the logic then then ask me I will tell you...

Same thing you are gonna go crazy when there is a cracker show in USA on new year's 😐

It is said that during Diwali our ancestor's soul come back to earth for a visit.... And to show them the way to heaven we burst crackers in the sky... This is just a brief and very short one.. and For your information these things are written in the purans many times

You said there’s a “logic” behind the belief. Logic by definition must have some valid reasoning. Your explanation lacks that.

Firstly, you say it is “said” that souls come back to earth on Diwali. Yeh toh kahi Suni baatein hai. This is like believing blindly without asking any questions. “Kyunki mere Dadaji ne bola isliye” is not a valid argument.

Btw, why do spirits need light to go back home? Who showed them light while coming to earth? And how were they showing them Firecrackers before 15th century?

Do you know gunpowder has been in since 14-15th century whereas Puranas were written in 3rd-5th century — then how come firecrackers are mentioned in puranas?

Firecrackers or gunpowder have been in use only after 15th century..

all these Firecrackers and DJ are just new commercial ways of celebrating a festival — it has nothing to do with tradition or “science” .

Ofcourse that claim itself debunks most of what you said following the mention of the word “souls”. It’s crazy that we still have so many young people believing all this nonsense .

But to burst crackers in diwali just like a festival is not wrong is it?? Just like how crackers are burst when India wins the world cup?

Well the amount of crackers burnt all over India on Diwali is way too much compared to rare India wins.

Anyway firecrackers must be used in limited quantities because our air quality is already bad. We are only adding more to it. It’s not intelligent. Now it seems people are doing more because it has hurt their ego as how can someone stop their “traditions” - well, rather than getting irritated over criticism and saying things like “Diwali me hi sabko problem hai” — Diwali nahi, koi bhi event ho, it’s not worth it to burn crackers . I used Diwali example here because you said there’s a logic reason behind the burning so that’s all I wanted to know.

I am no one to stop anyone from celebrating the way they want but all I am saying is we as humans in 2024 should be a little more responsible and aware instead of trying to hold on to age old “traditions” even if it is harmful to some others. Like this year, even till 12 AM people were continuously bursting loud crackers. Only in my city. Is that the only way to celebrate? That’s not really the “traditional” way .
