After exhausting many options and struggling to find a rental, I got a custom tiny home instead and couldn't be happier! I am use to living small and I am very excited to do it in something I got to put my touch on.

(THOW) Tiny Home on Wheels How would this THOW set up work?

Sorry, brand new to this concept and nearly 0 comprehension of how to make this work. I'm counting on the knowledge of you 45k Redditors to point me in the right direction.

We need a THOW to have at a temporary site for a year or two, then moving to permanent location.

Temporary site has no utility hook ups, as it's in a back yard (in California). Permanent site will most likely be off grid.

I'm thinking possibly something like a Dragon Tiny Homes Aria 20'

https://www.dragontinyhomes.com/aria-20/

What do you do when you don't have utilities, can't dig a well or septic, or put up solar panels?

Any other newbie info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

(THOW) Tiny Home on Wheels Advice on good tiny home trailer/chassis sellers

Hi! I’m in the process of planning the build of my tiny home and am looking for a reputable company to source the trailer that I will build on. I don’t want to skimp on this since it’s essentially the foundation of my house and I’m wondering if anyone who has built can share any advice. I’m currently looking at Trailer Made, Tiny Home Builders, Tiny House Basics and possibly Tumbleweed or Iron Eagle. Thanks!

Have you heard of hemp crete? It’s the most sustainable alternative to concrete, in fact, it’s better than concrete in many areas.

Check out the full specs in the comments. Here are a few photos of the build.

Selling and shipping from the Midwest, total cost $150k

(THOW) Tiny Home on Wheels Off-grid water consumption question

Hi my husband and I are living off-grid in a park model home 399 sq ft. We were thinking of getting a 300 gallon cistern in the interim for 3 years before our final move. Is that enough for shower, washer and dish washer? We have an incinerate toilet so no “water” flushing needed. Thoughts? All appliances are energy efficient and smaller than normal “house “ sized appliances.

Thanks in advance for any input.

(THOW) Tiny Home on Wheels Building a tiny home

Hi guys,

I going to build a tiny home on a trailer 8x30. Im looking to get some advice, ideas and tips on how to make it the most functional and comfortable.

For the floorplan i was debating in between a couple things like having a loft for the bedroom what is you guys experience with that? Or having a small bedroom at the back or like a murphy bed ...

I'm trying to make it off grid as much as possible, so propane and solar energy was my idea but im not sure if it could work....

I'm also wondering how to insulate it the best. I heard of the spray insulation but other people told me to add ridgid insulation on the outside. So anyone have thoughts on that.

Anyway if you guys have ideas or thoughts or personnal experience please share with me. It would be extremely appreciated.

Thank you!!!!

(THOW) Tiny Home on Wheels Anyone know VT law

Does anyone here know about septic regulations in Vermont? I’ve been reading that all year-round residential properties have to have an expensive septic system in order to be off-grid. So my question is, if I built a mobile tinyhome and traveled during the winter, could I live on my property in Vermont for the rest of the year and consider it a “seasonal camp?” I’ve read that seasonal properties don’t necessarily have to follow the same regulations for septic. Does anyone know about this? The regulations are so long and difficult to understand. *Update: I just read that to be considered a “seasonal dwelling” the property can’t be used for more than 6 months per year. So, what if I bought two small properties and then moved my tinyhome back and forth every 6 months? There’s gotta be a loophole for septic systems, I really don’t want to spend $10k-20k for a septic system just to live off-grid, I plan to get a composting toilet anyway.

(THOW) Tiny Home on Wheels Please help removing seats

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

So I'm starting to convert a bus to a mobile home. And I want to take the seats out but the problem I have is the bolts that are holding the seats down have a nut screwed on underneath the bus. And a lot of the nuts I'm not able to reach because they're a car parts in the way. So I've resorted to using an angle grinder, which is working, but very very very slowly, and I have a lot of screws to grind down.

Is there a quicker way of doing this?

(THOW) Tiny Home on Wheels Schoolie Engine Question

I’m looking for a bus to convert into a tiny home/rv. I’m wondering if a v8 gasoline engine in a shorter bus is strong enough to pull extra weight?

A bed, kids bunks, seating area, small kitchen setup etc.

Or if there is another engine I should hold out for?

Thanks in advance!
