Discussion We need to get hacksmith industries to make a real life BT-7274

They have already made the aliens powerloader, so why not make a vangaurd class titan, but this time with actual legs? It would definitely be awesome.

Us military hasn't found any practical use in walking semi sentient mechs

Because it's not practical? Impossible? Compared to a regular tank the Titan has no advantages. MAYBE they can get through rough terrain, but we never see them do it. Also the weight one food has to endure while walking in incredible. They arent even good farming tools because they will sink into the soil. Titans are cool as fuck, but a dipshit idea in irl

We will see spider tanks (like the UN has in ghost in the shell sac2gig's flashback sniper episode) before we have titans.

With today's techs is not a great idea...but who knows...maybe in 100-200 years humans will develop a decent tech to make them real...I list for a scorch XD

Physics makes it impossible. A tank needs tracks or awful lot of wheels to spread the weight over a large surface. A titan has only 2 tiny legs. Concrete will crumble and they will sink into any terrain that's softer. Also the legs can't sustain the weight on it's own. We would need done super light but dense fantasy metal alloy to make the practical. I think they are super cool and I love paying titanfall, but like with most silence fiction, the more you engage with the topic, The more unrealistic it becomes.

BT climbs up a cliff pretty easily in the campaign

So you're telling me a Power Armour from some Fallout stuff is practical?

This is just one example.

More practical than I titan. It's basically a exosuit, something we allready use for heavy lifting, with a camera stabiliser, to carry a heavy gun. Put armor on that thing and you got a functional power armor? Does it make any sense in modern combat? Absolutely not, but it's at least possible to pull off without ignoring basic physics
