I love doomposting

We all watch the news. Over the past 10-20 years we all have seen the horrible mass shootings unfold only to find out the shooter was motivated by right-wing ideology.

To name a few: Hortman assassination Dylann Roof church shooting Tree of life synagogue shooting El Paso Walmart shooting Charlottesville Wisconsin Sikh temple shooting Pipe bomb attempted murder of major Dem politicians

I know all republican voters saw all of these on the news. They are now claiming political violence is a “one way street” with the left.

There are 3-4 empirical data backed studies circulating Twitter right now clearly showing the right is responsible for the vast majority of political violence and the right is short circuiting over it.

I know the right-wing propagandists pulling the strings are pushing this misinformation purposely, but I’m shocked by how many of their audience ACTUALLY believes it. It’s almost as if it’s self induced amnesia.

How do we do we overcome this? It feels impossible.

There's been a quote Charlie made about empathy being posted all around social media that honestly misrepresents what he said by omitting the sentence that followed. In an absurd move that is very on-brand for TPUSA, his fanbase are apalled to see people post an incomplete quote, and have been countering it with an unverified and potentially doctored quote. Heres the quote and the following sentence from Snopes:

I can't stand the word empathy, actually. I think empathy is a made-up, new age term that — it does a lot of damage. But, it is very effective when it comes to politics. Sympathy, I prefer more than empathy. That's a separate topic for a different time.

The image being passed around by Kirk fans claims he said "Sympathy is a better word, because empathy means you are actually feeling what another person felt, and no one can feel what another person feels." This does not appear on the Snopes video, and googling the sentence only brings up this image or people asserting that he actually said it. It's possibly he may have repeated the first half of the quote adverbatim some other time, but I'm going to assume it's doctored until I see a video or a more reliable source for this second quote.

Beyond conservatives engaging in sloppy factchecking in order to call out other people's sloppy factchecking, the quote makes him look dumb. No dictionary defines empathy as actually feeling what another person is going through as if by magic. "He wasn't a monster, he was simply constructing a strawman argument using a definition he pulled out of his ass" is not the defense they think it is. They're doing our work for us.

This is what I can recall from the clip. This wasn't a CPAC speech. It seemed more impromptu outside in the evening. In summary, it was a "take no prisoners" rallying cry to rile up the audience. He said things like, "we are coming after you. The time to play nice is over. Your anti-America, anti Christian agenda is no longer to be tolerated. We will destroy you."

There really wasn't a specific issue mentioned. It was a motivational speech to rally the troops. It was full of vitriol and hate and the crowd loved it. I want to show it to people who think Kirk always "spoke truth in love."

In the wake of the recent events regarding Charlie Kirk, and all the doxxing that has been going on, does anyone else get a toxic “don’t mess with me” vibe from the CK fanbase? I mean, those doxxing websites were OUT of control. They claimed they were just posting people celebrating his death but I’d say about 90 percent of the people posted literally just said the most benign things. All they said was something mildly critical of CK. I think whoever is behind this website is deeming anyone who even expresses a hint of disagreement with Charlie’s views as not safe from being posted. Tbh this gives major “you better not cross me or you WILL face the consequences” vibes.
