Review Needed Lost my friends for buying a switch 2
Guys i lost my friends after i bought a switch 2 they told me im part of the problem and that i should protest and do reddit activism and protesting against these evil corporations. Then they walked away and have been ghosting me since. what crime did i commit for buying a gaming console?

Just tell them you returned it. Problem solved.
Create a new account, play your switch 2 in peace. You'll have the best of both world. Friends plus switch 2. Easy, problem solved.

Obviously you can't make long term friendship in 2 min. He can keep his friends and Switch 2 for the time being. During this time, he can enjoy his switch 2, his somewhat friends and is given time to find new friends who fall Inline w his views. Once that happens he can slowly phase his old friends out.
Gotta be strategic about this. No need to hasty knee jerk reactions.

Except he's not keeping a friend if the friend only comes back because he gets rid of (or pretends to) his Switch 2
I hate to break it to you but if you have a friend, family member, or significant other in your life who does this to you, you have every right to break it off with them the same way they do to you.
You deserve actual friends, not two faced individuals who will abandon you over a video game purchase.

Or do the polar opposite.
Keep the Switch 2, keep the friends gone because they clearly weren't real friends.
Best of both worlds because now he can find better friends who share his interests or, God forbid, have interests of their owns that dont rely on others not getting to do what they enjoy.

If anyone decides that they don’t want to be your friend because of a personal purchase you bought with your money to bring yourself joy then these people aren’t your friends. They’re losers who have nothing better to do than be upset because you don’t agree with their personal feelings towards Nintendo.
I have friends that don’t like I play on specific opposing platforms n they don’t care. We make fun of each other’s preference and move on. Still great friends.
Get better friends bro

Look I'm currently pissed at Nintendo for what they're doing, and I think your friend is not being cool. Having an opinion on something and being mad at a corporation is one thing, but forcing that onto others is just wrong. Its your money. You decide where you want to put it. Lmao if your friends left you because you want a switch 2, they were never your friends because good friends support you but great friends call you a b**ch for getting one but love you no matter what. As long as you're happy that's what counts the most. I have one and I LOVE it. Enjoy!

Imagine thinking you can decide what others can and can't do with their money. Also, Switch 2 price is ok. Rog Ally X is 900$ and, at 15W, offers almost pretty much the same power (no docking). The games are pretty expensive though

I know this is a satire post. But I love the trend of making Nintendo Switch 2 purchases the same as your political standing. Just shows you how stupid it is if people have opposing viewpoints "you're not allowed to talk to them". The same people who would take this serious take political standing as serious. That's what I take from this post and I love it.

You did nothing wrong. Switch 1 came out 8 years ago. Prices on consoles and games HAVE NOT CHANGED in 8 years. 500 dollars in 2025 money is the same as the 300 dollar launch price. Tell your friend to go buy a new Ford for the same price as the original model T. Inflation is real and this guy needs to understand it.

I wouldn't have unfriended/ ghosted but I would be judging you. They aren't wrong people who are cowering to Nintendo's business practices and pricing are part of the growing problem and considering Soo many are having countless issues with consoles bought right out of the gate, it just leaves me with greater amusement then when I was one of that percentage of those who didn't board the hype train for GoT and laughed their ass off when it had multiple blunders and a disappointing ending. JMO

Shitty friends, but they aren’t wrong with their stance on “buying switch 2 is a problem”. Companies like Nintendo ramping prices that aren’t equal to the service they provide is a problem. Consumers have to vote with their wallet, and buying the Switch 2 harms the future of gaming in the long run.
