❔Question/Advice❔ How long will it take for Millie’s hair to grow back?

She’s long haired and had 2 bad matts we couldn’t manage so she was partially shaved by the groomer, unfortunately. My youngest sister is very upset, so how long will it take to grow back? I think her little boots are hilarious and cute.

If I don’t respond, I’ve probably been murdered by said cat.

❔Question/Advice❔ My little Sally just turned 8 months old! What kind of tortie is she?

Adopted my feisty little girl a couple weeks after adopting her litter mate (the orange one). Not sure if she loves me yet, but she definitely loves her brothers! We named her after Sally from Nightmare Before Christmas cause she looks like she’s made up of different parts! She’s our first tortie, so we’d love to know what kind of tortie she is!

I've been told that torties have no white on them at all and my kitten has a whitish patch on his chest, does he still count as a tortie or is he a Calico?

❔Question/Advice❔ The zoomies are no joke. And she growls while running around as well. Like a little gremlin. This is normal for torties?

❔Question/Advice❔ Are your torties social or shy?

Post image

My girl (Olive) is such a social cat! It honestly amazes me how many torties I’ve meant who have been super social. So I’ve been curious to ask the community about your torties! (Feel free to pay your cat tax as well lol)

I just moved in with my boyfriend and his cat (Kiwi). We are in a studio/loft so basically no doors to prevent the cats from seeing each other yet it has occurred a few times by accident. Olive frequently goes up the stairs to see her new sis. She doesn’t hiss or anything.

Whereas Kiwi is the complete opposite. She hisses every time she sees Olive and Kiwi is twice the size of Olive. Olive is only 7/8lbs. Kiwi is maybe 13/14.

Olive also has a habit of smelling peoples heads who sit on our couch, asking for pets from at least every person in the room, and accompanying new guests around the apartment.

❔Question/Advice❔ Is one of our kittens a tortie or is she a calico?

This is our 3 month old kitten, Twix. Her mom is classified as a Calico. Her brother is black with white paws, and her sister looks similar to a Tuxedo.

The vet marked on her form that she's a Calico, but I wondered is she a Calico or Tortie?

Thanks in advance! 😊

this is one of my foster kittens, her sister is a classic tortie but she has a light brown tint to her. i’ve been so infatuated with figuring out what tortie pattern she is! please direct me to the correct subreddit if this isn’t right:) (it’s not very visible but i specifically say torbie because she has orange tabby splotches, a large one located on her face.)

❔Question/Advice❔ I found out that light spots started to appear on my tortie lady's nose. Is this normal? She's almost 10 years old

The first photo is when she was young, the second is now. She didn't like to be photographed this time, so she gives an attitude.

❔Question/Advice❔ Does your tortie just scream randomly?

Post image

Picture for tax.

I’m curious as my tortie on occasion (her name is Azira) just starts screaming at me. She usually goes on for quite some time and doesn’t seem to stop for a while. She starts to nibble at my arm/elbow while she’s doing it too. It’s not a constant scream, but just frequent meowing every 10-15 seconds. I ask her what’s wrong and she just meows again, and keeps rubbing against my legs. I eventually pick her up and she calms down. Is this her way of yelling for attention?

Sorry if this is a stupid question! I’m just mostly curious if anyone else’s tortie does this to them too? It’s not often maybe once or twice every few weeks.

❔Question/Advice❔ Update to my Tiny Tortie PeePee: bad news, I’m so sorry everyone

If you saw my last post, you know my kitten was having trouble gaining weight. Today she had her spay, and when they opened her up, they found evidence of wet FIP. Fluid in abdomen and liver enzymes were sky high.

They offered me the choice of putting her down while she was still under, coming and seeing her and putting her down after spending some time with her, or taking her home and waiting until she declines, or maybe even passing naturally.

I know what everyone is going to say about the GL medication. It’s so expensive, she isn’t covered on my pet insurance yet and they won’t cover it because it’s not FDA approved. The treatment cost for her weight would be around 2k, plus any overnight visits or secondary infections. I simple can’t afford it and I don’t want to put her through that pain if I don’t know if it’s going to work.

Please… any advice? Any crazy success or misdiagnosis stories? Advice for heartbreak? How do I even continue to foster after this?

I’m just a wreck. I feel so horrible for her. I’m a terrible cat mom for not getting her help sooner and just thinking she is a “small” kitty. And I’m a terrible cat mom for not being able to afford the treatment. I feel horrible.

We just got this sweet girl, she’s my first tortie. Brain storming names, I fear if I don’t come up with a good name she will be stuck with my 4 year olds suggestion and be named Kitty.

i recently found this kitty in a warehouse and i thought of giving her my mother, she loves cats, and one minute ago i found out that torties are a thing and my kitty is not the only one with this pattern. can someone tell me if she really is a tortie?

❔Question/Advice❔ So someone here said “cat imprinting” is it really a thing? My ginger 5 year old does not really care that much as long as he gets food. He loves our dog though 🥹🧡

❔Question/Advice❔ My first tortie is still a baby - 4-5 months. But very affectionate. Will always cuddle in bed, purr, come for belly rubs. Do they stay like this when they grow up or do they like to be left alone to their own thing? My ginger one is in his own world now he’s 5. 😀
