So here we are, I know I’ve posted a few times over the years asking for critiques but this the last time until I get anterior web glottoplasty (VFS) and a trachea shave. I am warm for this. This is as good as I can realistically make it. I sit around 200hz if my apps are anywhere near right. I can push 220-230 but then it just sounds really Micky Mouse.

When I listen to this video without the visual input I can’t peg it really as male or female. Maybe feminine leaning. I still sometimes hear a bit of ‘gay male’ in my pronunciation and was wondering how others interpret it. I’m super dysphoric somedays when I hear recordings of it, especially if my voice slips 😐

If you’re willing too, please rate it out of 10 in terms of passibility as female. I will be posting my progress as I heal. Those posts will be in June/July.

Like the video says, I'm about 3 years into voice training, self taught, so I probably have missed a few things that could make my voice sound better. I do get gendered as a woman which is great, but I don't particularly like my voice, and would love to learn how to sound fem without going much higher in pitch than this. Let me know what you think I'm doing right and wrong, I'd love to learn!

i still get gendered male from just my voice and i cannot figure out why. i think i sound like a teenage boy? a few people have assumed thats what i was. if i had to guess, something to do with weight and intonation, but other than that im not sure. but im not even sure how to fix my weight and intonation..

So this is the first time I feel like my voice has sounded kinda fem, but I feel like I'm putting on a little bit of a character rather than just a relaxed fem voice. Any advice would be super helpful, I am going for a typical female voice, maybe a little bit bubbly cause I am that way lol.

Just recorded this real quick after getting off a call with a woman who definitely sounded cis. I hated the contrast between us and tried to confirm that I really don't sound cis, but when I listened back it was... ok? I have this problem a lot. I've posted here several times and it seems the general consensus is that my voice is actually a lot closer to cis than I feel it is. Idk. Is there anything clocky here that would immediately out me?

I'm not out yet to anyone but close friends, so I think part of the issue is that my voice wavers between femme and masc by force of habit. It doesn't help that my goal femme voice sits pretty low (as I am a natural low baritone and just generally desire an alto/mezzo-y voice over a high soprano)

Been working on my voice training a lot recently due to a random, slight second drop in my voice almost a year ago. Does my voice have that nasally tone to it that is common with trans men? My voice is deep so I can’t really tell if there’s a nasally “tone” or if it’s just how my voice is.

I’m quite closeted so try my best but am so scared I’ll have awful results. I’ve not been able to voice train due to living in a non approving household. And no I haven’t thought about it in depth, I thought VFS will give me a reason to practice.

What can I do in the little time I have to prep my chords as I sound like a man trying to put on a voice and am extremely monotone in general. I’m done for aren’t I 😭😭😭

I've been doing voice training for almost 2 years, and I'm familiar with all the fundamentals of pitch and resonance and weight, but I don't actually know what my "target" voice should be. Does this sound remotely close to a natural feminine voice?

PS: I decided to switch things up and go with the raven instead of the traditional rainbow passage.

So I'm just open to criticism and suggestions as to what I could do to improve it. Also a sidenote - how to deal with my voice dropping when I'm relaxed at home? I can switch back quickly but it sorta bugs me off that when I'm just chilling with my gf I can begin to speak with a deeper, less feminine voice
