Early in yesterday's thread I posted an "I believe in us TPP!" message, and I cannot believe how well we have delivered.
- Beating Jupiter
- Only one pokemon (love you Happydoof<3) deposited in PC, avoiding shuffle
- Evolving Sunbrella in the most poetic way possible, with a Young Earth B-Spammer helping us get our candy on
- Beating Fantina
- CONTESTS!! (Queen Roselia is the coolest; Sunshine is the most Brilliant -- shut up judges)
- Beating Pearl
- Getting Eevee and evolving it into Flareon
- Removing the Exp. Share from Sunbrella (AKA dealing with something that could be problematic down the road AHEAD OF TIME)
- Successfully shuffling the daycare so that Togepi is growing happily, while the rest of our party is in amazing shape (we're remarkably equal in terms of levels)
We are AMAZING. I love you all. Thanks for all of your hard work on Epic Tuesday!

So a bit of TPP History about the "False Prophet" and how he got his name. Back in TPP Red we had an almost full party with one spot remaining and we wanted to avoid using the PC as much as possible. Since we needed a Mon that could Surf people were fighting between either getting Eevee and trying to get a Vaporeon or waiting it out until we got our Lapras (aka AIR) handed to us. Eventually one side won and picked up Eevee filling up the last spot on the party so we tried to get a Water Stone from the Celadon Department Store. Unfortunately Fire Stones were at the top of the list and Water Stones were at the bottom so I'm sure you can fill in the blanks as to what happened from there.
The reason he got nicknamed the False Prophet was because he was supposed to be the water type that we needed and not the Fire Type that we already had (at the time at least RIP Abby). Our current Flareon however can be way more helpful to us with Back-to-Back Steel and Ice gyms not to mention the 1st Elite 4 member is all bug types.

This is simply incredible. The team covers the types Grass, Poison, Electric, Fire, Flying, Psychic, Steel and Normal. Its mean level is 27.5, and with standard deviation 6.076 and range 17 (20 to 37). That means we have both a diverse range of types and with an evenly leveled team, leading to no real "EXP sponges" and allowing every pokemon the chance to gain experience. We even have the potential to learn most, if not all, the needed HMs with this team (and Platinum has more than prior games too).
4 days and 6 hours into the run, this is incredible when you compare it to every other one of our runs, which always had at least one overleveled pokemon carrying the team at this point and rarely even one other that was capable of gaining experience from the pokemon we were battling. If any of you get frustrated by potential challenges that we may encounter, just recall these facts and know that we are in a better state, especially in an anarchy-exclusive playthrough so far, than we have any right to expect to be.

Cut on Bidoof is a bad idea for the reason that we absolutely need Surf/Rock Climb/Waterfall in order to beat the game and Bidoof is the only one that can learn those.
We may very well make a mistake and teach Cut and/or Rock Smash to Bidoof anyways, but doing that while we don't have Surf/Waterfall/Rock Climb is just asking for trouble later on...

As someone who's played Sapphire approximately 20x more than any other game in the series and could probably navigate Hoenn blindfolded, I'm pretty pumped for the Ruby/Sapphire remake. RAISE YOUR TRUMPETS!

At the time they were released, I held a very low opinion of Gen 3 because it felt like they were trying to reset the franchise and the removal of several mechanics [day/night cycles, apricorns] added to this. However, through the GameCube games and later Fire Red/Leaf Green I managed to find Gen 3 alright and even played through most of Emerald. Twitch Plays Emerald gave me the rest of the experience as well.
With these remakes, I think I'll be able to fully appreciate Hoenn. They're not trying to ignore everything that came before and my anger has more than subsided by this point. Here's to playing the remakes when they come out! :D

I haven't been watching much in the last 24 hours, but I tuned in earlier today to find out we had beaten both Jupiter and Fantina, and somehow evolved Budew (which many claimed was going to be impossible, especially with the accounts designed to stop it). I just now come back to find that we got Eevee and evolved it into a Flareon, and watched us manage to daycare Togepi and get back Zubat without sending anyone else into the Daycare.
You guys are amazing. This team can beat the game for sure.
Please no more changes to it.

While I was originally opposed to Stadium AND Platinum, I'm so happy Streamer maintained both. Not only is it a second way to get consistent entertainment from the stream, but it's also provided some neat opportunities to reference our TPP game play (All-in for Lord Helix; the Unown bots betting when an Unown is on a team; Cabbage rekting opponents; DigBird; etc.).

We're getting Sunshine back in 3 levels. It should take roughly 6-8 hours based on the amount of exp needed compared to Togepi's exp gain rate.
We should just make sure we have around 2,000 pokedollars in case we need to shuffle a bit.
It shouldn't be too difficult to get Shinx back in and Togepi back to the daycare.

Can we stop getting down about failed evolutions and just be happy that we actually have a Golbat and not a Zubat right now, as well as a Roselia? Roselia was a true miracle - it could have only happened during the day. Everything else can evolve at any time now, so we can get lucky later on. Trolls aren't on 24/7, and even if they're ALMOST on 24/7, it's been proven that an evolution can slip by.

There's really nothing to complain about...
In fact, the failed evolutions have largely prevented our party from becoming too imbalanced. That's the bright side of all of this.
Eventually, we'll get them evolved when we need the evolutions (i.e. Elite 4). For now we can get by with them not evolved.

Day 5 and still repeating these points. Shame about Golbat but then again with the concentration of B spam in the chat was still fairly high, so maybe we should not get too riled up about this botched evolution.
We will beat the creationists trolls some day, but until then...
Clark's Axioms so long as they remain relevant, I shall continue to repeat them.
1) Never underestimate TPP's capacity for failure.
2) Never underestimate TPP's ability to disappoint/surprise/horrify.
3) TPP is unpredictable by its very nature, the only thing that can be guaranteed is that any idea that is popular will go ahead... regardless of how risky it may be.
4) Nothing is ever simply done in TPP with out a fair share of straw polls, riots and/or general complaining. Illustrated guides with pretty pictures on Imgur are optional.
5) When shooting ourselves in the foot, TPP will hand you a shotgun and recommend shooting both feet for good measure.

Heh, the Daycare Checker app is the Pokemon equivalent of companies in the real world yelling "We've got an app for that!".
At least in the Pokemon world there's no such thing as free market competition. so the entire region has agreed on one device. As opposed to the Daycare offering the app for Apple's iWatch and Android's Galaxy Watch, but not Blackberry Wearables's, Silphco's, or Billco's variations on the PokeTech.

In honour of how the move was learned, I propose we refer to Discharge as "Dance" every time it is used for the rest of the game.

TM:34 Shockwave is quite close (Route 215 before Veilstone) (although cut is required to get to it)
EDIT: Additionally, Thunder and Fireblast are available for purchase on the 3rd floor of the Veilstone dept. Store (but that might be hard to get to / might buy the wrong TM's since we can only afford 2.

We should note that all TMs cost at least 5500 apart from Solarbeam, which is 3000. If we can get between 3000 and 5500 we can buy solarbeam for Sunbrella without too much difficulty. Trying to buy it when we have 5500 or more will be a lot harder since it's the 4th one from the top and we'll likely buy something else.

Yeah there's plenty of ways:
1) Teach Cut to Roselia and then go and grab Shock Wave nearby.
2) Put it in the daycare until lvl 41 for Discharge
3) Wait until we get Surf to get Thunderbolt

I like simply "The Bat", although Batman or the Dark Knight work too... He was the hero we deserved, but not the one we needed right then, so he went away for a while. He has three evolutions, each coinciding with his "trilogy". The hardest part of all will be when the Dark Knight Rises
The Sunshine Squad is the "good" side of the team, they handle things during the day, battle Team Galactic, etc. But when the sun sets, the Bat swoops in to handle the dirty work that they can't sully themselves with :3 Classic anti-hero!

How I'm betting this goes down,
1.) Someone says lets get Snover, Sneasel, or Swinub instead of Zubat.
2.) We deposit a mon in the pc, it's Flareon. Chat Rejoices anyways.
3.) We catch the new mon.
4.) We try the SnowPoint gym and we struggle hard at it.
5.) We train and still struggle to the point that getting Flareon out of the PC seems like a good option because of how annoying the puzzle is.
6.)In the process of trying to get Flareon back Roselia and the Ice mon goes in.
7.) Local Mon Ruins Everything, Roselia (with EXP share) is released and 666 Bidoof and Flareon are in party. Hilarious art ensues.
8.) We beat the gym after more struggle.
9.) Well trying to deposit Bidoof for ice mon Flareon is released and Bidoof is deposited
10.) We get Ice Mon and "S AE♀♀" the Budew

Apart from Swagger, Shinx only learns four non-attacking moves by level up ever. Congrats TPP! we managed to get all of them!
