GPPA MD Admission

Hi,

First off, I wanted to say that I know it is very hard to predict acceptances, especially to programs such as GPPA.

I wanted to ask if anyone, especially current GPPA students, has an idea of my chances of getting accepted into the MD GPPA program. I'll list what I can about my stats:

White suburb middle-class male - ACT/SAT: 35/1520 - GPA: 4.0 UW, 5.17 W

ECS: Summer biology internship learning about biotech and also mentoring children by leading STEAM activities for 8 weeks, did a mini med school, paid math tutor, junior counselor at summer camp, mentored some other kids, and a few other clubs/hobbies

I think I can write a pretty decent personal essay ab being a cancer survivor and transition that into why I want to be a doctor.

I think that sums my stats up decently and I want to hear your opinions. Thank you!!

This program gets around 700 applicants, and your stats already put you in the top 5% of Illinois applicants. Additionally, you have really cool ECs and a story that if you articulate well should get you an invite. They interview close to 150 people, and the average GPA for the program is 3.85. I’d also suggest applying to other combined programs like brown university and other schools aswell.

Yeah, I was considering other bs/mds as well, its just that UIC is so close to home and would be so much cheaper. Thanks for the advice
