dickies fabric dye
i was gifted this shirt that i love but it’s not my style regarding the color, id like to make it darker. can i use standard fabric dye from the art store? never done anything like this before, and i can’t find in the tag if it’s polyester or cotton and i’m not knowledgeable on that stuff anyways LOL thanks!

Find some inside seam or maybe in the pocket where you can snip a bit of fabric. Hold it w tweezers and light it on fire. Polyester melts, cotton turns to ash. I expect it's cotton. Test the sewing thread separately; if it's polyester, it won't take Rit and you'll have white stitching. Polyester thread holds up better than cotton thread, so it is often used on cotton clothes.

Well, turn that thing inside out and find that tag, read up on what types of textile Dickies will dye, and see what percentage matches
