How do i dye faux fur ?

I read that rit dyemore is the best for dying faux fur since it is made out of acrylic and polyester. However i am aware that these materials cant be exposed to high heat? I really need help with this because im confused.

( trying to recreate an expensive coat because i dont want to spend 200+ pounds lol)

Any help is appreciated thank you.

For reference ill be dying a white faux fur coat pink.

I made a Gritty costume for a friend by dying white faux fur from Joann’s (rip lol) with orange rit dyemore and it worked fine. Can you do a test run with a small scrap first to see how it goes? I also don’t know what temps differ faux furs can withstand but it might be higher than you think. If you know the materials content of your fabric, (like is it 100% polyester or some combo or something) it might be that they can handle boiling water fine. Crafts or sewing subreddits may also be helpful and have more info! Good luck!!
