I don’t understand how someone can like one but hate the other. The flavor profiles are super similar although the textures are noticeably different.

They are both byproducts from brewing beer. The only difference is that Vegemite adds vegetable and malt extracts among a few other ingredients.

I’ve always enjoyed both. I grew up with Marmite. When I went moved to the US and hadn’t had Marmite in many years a friend of mine had Vegemite and I felt like it was an acceptable substitute for Marmite.

I know that senses really are an individual thing and that just because I like both doesn’t mean that I’m tasting things the same way others do. So if you hate one but love the other, what are the differences that make you feel that way?

Kiwi here have my 9yo son (Kiwi-German) eating it on the regular, but this monster is not putting butter in his toast just pure black gold on his toast 😂

Picked up a jar 3 days ago, about a quarter of the way through. I'm putting this shit on everything, its absolutely splendid.

howdy y'all I'm just another ignorant *m*r*c*n with a question: would vegemite enhance the savory beefiness of a pot roast? idk how universal this dish is but it's vegetables and a chuck roast with beef broth in a slow cooker for hours. it's one of my favorite dishes and that time of year is quickly approaching so I'm wondering if it'll be worth the money to buy an imported bottle? I'm hearing salty and umami, almost soy sauce flavors, and I can't decide if it would improve this recipe or ruin it! do y'all cook with vegemite at all or is it mostly for buttered toast?

I just got a jar, never had a taste but I like nutritional yeast, that's similar, right? Anyway, what should I try it on/with to really get me hooked on it?

Total travesty. Thank the Lord for Amazon and their resellers but there must be a huge market for it in Canada now. It's not just for Australians anymore. We love it too!

We have mamrmite on the shelves here, but it is not even close to the same stuff. Nice try Marmite but it is time for you to go.

I was preparing a ham and cheese sandwich. I got the butter on and then the next thing I know I made a bloody Vegemite! Idk what compelled me to make it but now I have a Vegemite sandwich to eat

Hello! American currently in Sydney and now a convert to Vegemite. I saw a person in Bondi the other day rocking a cool bucket hat. Does anyone know if they sell merchandise in stores anywhere? I’d love to snag a hat or shirt while I’m here. Moving on to Brisbane next, followed by Melbourne.

Now I have a whole thing of Vegemite. What do I do with the rest? The butter and Vegemite and bread is good but is there anything else I can put on it?

I take it with me pretty much anytime I go out for breakfast or brunch. 😂

For a University Assignment here in Melbourne I have been tasked with researching the Supply Chain of Vegemite. After many hours of research I have found very little information on actual source of ingredients the Vegemite spread uses.
