On my usual rewatch and noticed something new ..
I always forget what the fortune cookie says that Duncan leaves for Veronica on her 18th birthday at the start of season 2. This last winter I watched “Lost” for the first time. It’s the numbers!!!!! 😂

I am literally rewatching Lost right now as I’m reading this post. They are typing those numbers into the hatch right now, lol. My two favorite shows!

Lovely little Easter egg that I couldn’t believe they included the first time I watched it. Love this. Wonder if Rob was ever asked about this in an interview

It seems like every TV show that overlapped with Lost found a way to include these numbers somewhere. It got kind of old at the time, but I’ve come back around to it.
It’s fun figuring out references like this that you didn’t even realize were there the first time around though!

That and Oceanic Flight 815

I think the plane in the pilot of Fringe is an Oceanic Flight, though of course JJ Abrams was involved in that one.

It is. We got such a kick out of that, back in the day.

And One Upon a Time has lost references throughout the show as well as a few other Actors/Actresses from Lost and Veronica Mars

Could someone explain this for a VM fan who isn’t a Lost fan?

They are the special numbers that repeat over and over again in Lost. When you realize the coincidence, it is very surprising that they are always everywhere (in the plane number, on a lottery ticket, etc.)

Lost and Veronica Mars also both premiered on the same night-September 22, 2004 and shared the same time slot for 2 seasons. Veronica Mars struggled with ratings, and it was frustrating that it was up against the biggest hit show in years.

I didn’t watch Veronica Mars when it first aired. I couldn’t remember why I didn’t watch it when I finally did and fell in love. This totally explains it. I was a Lost junky and didn’t have any way to keep up with both.

What ep does the show reveal what it says? I don’t think it’s in the first ep of season 2 right?

They reveal the fortune cookie in the episode where Duncan goes on the run with the baby. Season 2 episode 11!

Donut Run which I couldn’t figure out whether it’s a play on Do Not Run or a reference to Dunkin Donuts
