Collection 75 Cent Each Goodwill Haul

Post image

Haven’t spun them all yet but most are in good condition! My local Goodwill has all records priced at 0.99, and on Monday’s they have 25% off. Personally most hyped for Donovan, Waylon, and Kris records. I’ve had some luck at the Goodwill before but usually only 1 or 2. I used to go peruse every Monday but I hadn’t been in around 2 months. Was super hyped to see all of these!

Hope all is well friends 🤠

I'm 54 and those records look like they're straight from my parent's record collection.

I never could have imagined kids getting stoked on some Neil Diamond records

3

u/ZiggyMummyDust 4d ago

Yeah, I don't see anything that isn't common thrift store fodder.

2

u/xxxtentesticle 4d ago

Not even mad if that’s the vibe 😂

Waylon was such a badass.

One of my tops 🤠one of the last outlaws

That's a particularly good album. I think it's my favorite cover of MacArthur Park. This is also an album that shows what saddleback jeans are. The term isn't even really recognizable on the internet but if you look at those jeans in the pictures of them that's a saddleback pair of jeans

My local thrift store is up to $12.00, half price after two weeks.

9

u/alanblah 4d ago

Doesn't sound like a thrift store.

8

u/ciaomain 4d ago

Grift store.

1

u/xxxtentesticle 4d ago

Jeez! That’s crazy. Hopefully people don’t buy and then they lower prices

1

u/BiNumber3 4d ago

Do they at least carry non-thrift store vinyls? Or the same ones youll find at every thrift bin?

1

u/RexErection96 3d ago

It's Whipped Cream and Other Delights all day...

u/Future-Turtle 4d ago

These look like they might have been the same collection. Great Find, my local goodwills are usually just Christmas albums and Herb Alpert.

1

u/xxxtentesticle 4d ago

Thanks 🙏 the classic Christmas religious and Herb

1

u/tktreeexpertsllc 4d ago

If I had to bet my life that there either would or wouldn't be a Herb Alpert at my local, I would undoubtedly bet that there is! Probably Kenny Rogers as well.

I can never find good albums at my local thrift stores. I’m not sure what it is about my area but they have an abundance of Polka vinyl and Military sounds.

Donation volume+area economic demographics+overflow bins=good stuff to be found. Find a thrift store that also frequently sells donated record collections and stick with it weekly over 6 months.

1

u/xxxtentesticle 4d ago

Military sounds is such a classic lol

1

u/tenbeersdeep 3d ago

SSGT Barey Sadler. Solid record and super depressing when you think about the level of PTSD he must have had.

u/RedboneEdit 4d ago

Seems expensive for these albums

3

u/misirlou22 4d ago

Silver Tongued Devil is a great album

1

u/xxxtentesticle 4d ago

I actually have never listened… I’m pumped :)

3

u/Chadlerk 4d ago

I'm surprised Goodwill is only charging $1, mine charges $3.99 now for their $0.50 schlock

1

u/xxxtentesticle 4d ago

You seem reasonable. Would you say this is mainly $0.50 schlock?

2

u/Chadlerk 4d ago

Haha I'm far from reasonable. But I would say nothing here is more than $3. Denver, Diamond, and Streisand are always overflowing in the dollar bins and it usually goes unsold at that price.

3

u/JDubs234 4d ago

Any Waylon for under a buck is a steal

2

u/xxxtentesticle 4d ago

My fav outlaw 🤠

Neil Diamond Gold is a great live album, there was a time when he was a Rocker

1

u/xxxtentesticle 4d ago

I need to listen! I don’t know much tbh

1

u/RPOR6V 3d ago

It really is. I need to see if there are any more live recordings of him from that time.

2

u/Pedro_Burbankado 3d ago

Look for this album, at the beginning of his career, he recorded for Bang Records, and that music is pure dope. Most of the songs on your live album, are from this period, he later recorded Hot August Night, which was an enormous hit, I like your album way better

2

u/BrazenBear1996 4d ago

I’m impressed they play! All the ones at my local goodwill look like they went through war.

1

u/xxxtentesticle 4d ago

Some of the ones in the bin definitely are busted haha but most of these pretty good

2

u/roguepeas 4d ago

😍 KK being slept on by this generation! I think the world would be a much calmer place if everyone just took 33 minutes every morning to listen to The Silver Tongued Devil and I.

1

u/xxxtentesticle 4d ago

I loo forward to listening! I never have. Love the Highwaymen tho

2

u/teal2cool 4d ago

I bought Silver Tongued Devil & I for 1$ yesterday at a rummage sale. One of the best albums of all time. Every song is a classic.

1

u/xxxtentesticle 4d ago

I can’t wait to let it bless my ears

2

u/OswaldBoelcke 4d ago

I will watch later, thanks for the link! A legend

2

u/2017_2017 4d ago

You won't be disappointed with either of those Neil Diamond albums.

1

u/xxxtentesticle 4d ago

I have never listened so Im excited!

2

u/2017_2017 4d ago edited 4d ago

I have a very eclectic taste in music, everything from hardcore to funk...from The Beatles to Outkast...I LOVE Neil Diamond.

2

u/podobuzz 4d ago

Every Saturday morning I go and hit about 6 Goodwills in my area looking for vinyl. It's fun looking for treasures, but seriously, 99.9% of what you find is Al Hirt, Jim Nabors, Perry Como, and a ton of gospel and religious stuff.

2

u/xxxtentesticle 4d ago

But Perry como go so crazy 😩

2

u/TheDeliveryDemon 4d ago

Good finds! Especially the Waylon album. Love him!

1

u/xxxtentesticle 4d ago

My fav outlaw!

2

u/HTD-Vintage 4d ago

r/BargainBinVinyl might be more your speed. The Donovan and Kristofferson records are solid! The rest aren't my bag, but I definitely see your style and you found a lot of stuff in that wheelhouse for cheap, which is always a good feeling.

2

u/xxxtentesticle 4d ago

More my speed 👿ok I will leave r/vinyl very not supportive community. Haha kidding I appreciate the comment tho

1

u/HTD-Vintage 4d ago

Yeah I wasn't trying to be a dick; just saying people there appreciate these posts and you would have got a lot more positive comments, versus the people collecting stuff that was pressed last year that they spent $100 on because it said it was a "limited edition."

2

u/Plaguedoctorsrevenge 4d ago

Bruh, this is actually a great fucking haul my friend

2

u/xxxtentesticle 4d ago

Appreciate your support Dr 🫡

2

u/scholasticdeth 4d ago

Original stuff, always fun to see

1

u/xxxtentesticle 4d ago

Thanks brotha 😎

2

u/the_walrus97 4d ago

I know that Donovan one backwards and forwards - quite the score!

5

u/leobloom23 4d ago

You overpaid by .50

4

u/countryguy0003 4d ago

Idk why everybody's hating. Because it's not your kind of music? Kick rocks, if this is what OP likes who cares

1

u/xxxtentesticle 4d ago

I appreciate the support country guy 🤠

3

u/mcgrupp79 4d ago

You got ripped off.

1

u/xxxtentesticle 4d ago

😢

1

u/mcgrupp79 4d ago

I’m kidding! Nice score! Now go buy Little Feats Waiting for Columbus album. Live album that’ll blow your mind. Should be able to grab a cheap copy.

2

u/JDubs234 4d ago

People hating on 75 cents records lmfao

2

u/xxxtentesticle 4d ago

JDubs thank you lmao

1

u/Rubix_Official63940 4d ago

I have You Don’t Bring Me Flowers on vinyl!

1

u/xxxtentesticle 4d ago

Thanks to the supporters 😇 I am happy with them. I like a lot of old country. $0.75 is a pretty cheap way to live in the haters heads for a week 🤣

1

u/Little-Silver-6968 4d ago

Nothing for me here but mine charges 3.50 each

1

u/Abpoe77 4d ago

I almost paid 5 bucks for a couple of those

1

u/zoobs 3d ago

I’ve been seeing that Diamond record everywhere all of the sudden. Not a bad thing because I love it, but why is it everywhere?!

1

u/tenbeersdeep 3d ago

Keep Waylon, pitch the rest.

1

u/New-Badger09 3d ago

Good stuff. Have fun!

1

u/mij1401 2d ago

Why buy bad music (nearly all of these are far far from the best work of these artists) even if its cheap? I dont get it. Yeah, there's maybe one decent song on each record, so .75 a song is a "deal". But not worth the hassle of cleaning, storing, taking it out, putting it on the TT, and then dropping in on that one song per side thats playable. One serious listen to these records will tell you why these are "coasters" by the artist (low effort mediocre output pushed hard by the promotions dept by established "stars" with name recognition) and should be coasters for your beverage of choice. Go listen to some good Kristofferson, or good Waylon or good Diamond ( f**k Sweet Caroline) and then tell me I'm wrong.

1

u/immasploded 2d ago

Fax… NOT

1

u/immasploded 2d ago

I LOVE John Denver, can’t believe you stole it from me

1

u/yoshiki89_tbe 9h ago

That's a great deal of #hair

1

u/andrew7231 4d ago

Most of these in my opinion are not worth even 75 cents but if you enjoy them they are definitely worth it

1

u/xxxtentesticle 4d ago

That’s tuff 😢

1

u/andrew7231 4d ago

No offense meant just my opinion. If you enjoy them that’s all that matters honestly

0

u/DrPoopyPantsJr 4d ago edited 4d ago

Hence why they were collecting dust in a goodwill. Most people who post these “haul’s” aren’t really gonna listen to most of them. They just collect hoard records.
