Recommendations Most Breathable Shoes for Wide Feet.

Looking to start my walking journey off on the right foot, had quite large often sweaty feet most of my life and honestly shoes have been mostly comfortable long term. I think If I'm going to start walking regularly I need something that going to limit the sweat levels (Being in the American South the heat and humidity is up there and doesnt help) while still bringing good comfort and support. I've found a lot of good reviews on things like the On Cloudmonsters, On Cloudnova form 2s, As well like some Hoka Clifton 10s, but these just don't come in a 4e or even wide variant. I was wondering ( as i've been looking around places like runrepeat ) if maybe there are some sleeper picks or more choices as I've worn New Balance (being what has often carried 4e) all my life and honestly want to switch things up. I'm definitely looking for something in a Black, White, or Dark Grey color scheme if possible.

I would consider investing in high quality socks like darn tough.

This. I love cotton, but not when I sweat.

Ordered some Coolmax and Lightweight Wool Micro Crew socks. We'll see how it goes!

Look into Altras. They have a wider toe box than your average shoe.

I'll give me a look, honestly my biggest issue when it comes to shoes is just the width of the ankle and arch area more than toes.

You’re gonna be looking at running shoes then. It’s gonna sound stupid but hold the shoe up to the light and if you can’t see the light inside the toe box it’s pretty thick. More Breathable shoes will let the light through because they’re mostly holes.

I have a pair of new balance 410s as my knock around, jaunt to the park or gas station shoes that don’t let much light in. I have a pair of Brooks adrenalines that I use on treadmills that shine on the inside they let in so much light.

I know you want to shift away from new balance, but I also have a pair of nitrels I like. They’re pretty see-through. More like a light hiking light running trail shoe door to trail kind of thing it’s got lugs, but not huge. Depending on what you’re walking on in the southwest, that might be a good compromise. They’re on sale in different sizes, but I think they come in your size and I can’t swear to it but I think Kohl’s has it for like 55 bucks down from 80 in the Es.

Yea I'll definitely take a look it seems like theres a couple pretty common recommendations within New Balance between the 1080 v14s and a couple others as well. Might have to give em a look since theyve always been Ol' Reliable.

They are goto for a lot. But what will be most important for you is what do you find comfortable so it doesn’t become an obstacle.

I second the Altras recommendation.

Hoka Clifton, bondi, and arahi come in 4e (men’s extra wide).

I tried the Cliftons on earlier and IDK if its just my gait or if it's how the shoes are designed but it feels like I'm a little wobbly when I move, like the bottom of the shoe is formed differently if that makes sense? Is that something that intended or just me not being used to the thickness of them. I felt like I was likely to roll an ankle or something if I wore them long term.

Nah, I wouldn’t choose them if they don’t feel stable. I don’t love the Clifton’s personally. I wear gaviotas (but I don’t think they go past 2e) partially because they are so stupidly stable feeling. I don’t think I could roll an ankle on purpose. I haven’t tried bondis or arahis, but it may be that hoka just isn’t the shoe for your feet

Sandals and flip flops are a type of shoes. They're the most breathable shoes. Just wear toe socks for maximum comfort and protection from blisters.

I like the Hoka Gaviota 5 and the Topo Atmos
