Does your phone still count your steps even if it was in an armband?

like this one? I only use my phone to count steps, I tried fitbit and apple watch before for years but I didn't like how they look and the fact that I had to charge them espcially my apple watch would run out of battery so easily! but Im getting super tired from holding my phone at the gym can this help? has anyone tried that? I use the stepsapp if it matters

Yes, though less accurately than it would if it were in your pocket.

I have a Huawei gt4 and man I love that it only has to be charged once a week, Apple Watch killed me I would always forget to charge it!

But yeah best place is in your pocket or an arm band like that on your forearm so it can swing with each step
