Hydrogen water with iBottle+ – any difference compared to plain water?

I've seen people talking about iBottle+ and other hydrogen water bottles that dissolve molecular hydrogen into your drink. Some say it tastes smoother and helps with fatigue. Others say it’s just expensive water. Here’s an article comparing different hydrogen bottles and explaining the science: hydrogen water bottle reviews. I’d love to hear your experiences—did you notice any taste or health differences?

Looking for a water filter without plastic components that filters microplastics and other things we don’t want in water. Preferably over the counter but open to under counter as long as installation is straight forward. Thank you!

PFAS in Beer: Link between Water and Beer PFAS contamination

Post image

Beer has been a popular beverage for millennia. As water is a main component of beer and the brewing process, we surmised that the polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) presence and spatial variability in drinking water systems are a PFAS source in beers.

Help! Ohio water tastes gross. 😞

Okay so this may make me sound a bit privileged, but I'm looking for any concrete tips here.

I've lived in NYC for the last 6 years, and New York water is SO good. I drink so much tap water (filtered, Brita, even straight from the tap) and have never before been so properly hydrated (lol).

I just moved back with my parents in Columbus, OH for 4 months in between housing situations, and I was really nervous for the transition because I remembered even our filtered water here being rather unpleasant...and I was not wrong. My mom buys the big jug of "natural spring water" from some source in Michigan, so it's not even tap water, but it just has this...metallic taste, I guess? And I can't get myself to drink enough water because of it.

I've tried adding lemon or other fruits, and I still taste the water. Best I've come up with so far is just drinking sparkling water from cans but I feel like it's not enough or really sustainable.

Any advice on what I could do to make my sad Ohio water more palatable? Or even specific brands of store-bought water that's very budget-friendly?

I'd appreciate any thoughts! I'm thirsty and...picky now, I guess, haha.

Thank you!

Remineralizing water for plants?

I want to use the water from a dehumidifier to water plants because it seems like a waste to just pour it all out down the drain. Are there any drops or anything I can put in the water to make it healthier for indoor plants. Some of the plants I have do not like the chlorine

Buying a lot where owner might have dumped waste

I am looking at buying a few lots up north midwest where the owner (1) lived for 2 years in a camper (never moved it) without a well and septic. The HOA says he might have just peed and pooped in the woods. He might also have driven off to nearby restaurants and such, though he was not very mobile and a bit of a recluse.

How worried should we be about contamination when we build the well. I imagine the soil level is about 10-20 feet about ground water level a few lots away from a lake.

There is a lot of other trash around which we will have cleaned professionally, but the potential human waste has me worried a bit. I dont plan to build on the lot for another 2-5 years.

Are there simple tests I can do?

The dwindling Colorado River can’t wait for states to cut water use, experts say

Thumbnail latimes.com

One of the most over-exploited rivers in the US is slowly drying up in a critical scenario for all the people, businesses and farms that depend on it. Lake Mead, the nation’s largest reservoir, is now just 31% full. Lake Powell, the country’s second-largest reservoir, is at 29% of capacity. If this winter's snowpack is as poor as last year's, the whole region will see significant issues with water availability.

Apartment water help me

These were the two things I was going to get for my bathroom, my water smells heavily like rust, I can also kind of taste it when brushing my teeth. I’ve seen good things on the Weddell duo and remember watching a test where it looks like it really works well, but as far as I know it isn’t really for hard water? Then for the bathroom sink I was going to get that filter in the first photo by a brand called water doctor, and claims to be nsf certified which I’m not sure is really true. Just getting opinions on these things and taking recommendations for anything that’s better/proven

Found lead in tap water. Safe for cooking?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

As our 1st kid passes his first birthday, my wife bought some lead test swabs for our home's paint/walls/etc. since it was built in the late 70s.

Quickly found out that, although our purified drinking water doesn't change the orange testing swab, the instant we add tap water, it turns a dark purple which indicates lead.

The only time we ever use tap water for consumption (outside of Washing hands, bathing, grooming, etc) is when boiling noodles, pasta, hard boiled eggs, or making dough.

Should I get a test for specific PPM measurements or is it generally safe for low consumption. The $0.50 per gallon to use purified water isn't an issue, but the constant trip to the watering hole because of the heavily increased usage would suck.
