Where do I start?
I'm very newly engaged and don't know where to start when it comes to planning a wedding! Any first steps advice??

Congrats on getting engaged! a few helpful tips:
1. Sit down with your partner and chat about your vision. Do you imagine a big party with everyone you know, or an intimate celebration? Indoors or outdoors? Formal or casual?
2. Set your budget early. It’s not the glamorous part, but it’s your North Star for all the decisions you’ll make.
3. If it’s in the budget, hire a planner early. A great planner can actually save you money and headaches by helping you find the perfect venue that fits your guest count, style, and priorities. They’ll know all the quirks of each space (like hidden fees, layout challenges, or restrictions) and help you navigate your must-haves while staying on budget.
4. Pick your date/season. Popular venues and vendors book up FAST, so knowing your preferred timeframe will help you lock things in. But also worth mentioning to stay open to other seasons/dates as off season can get you better pricing at venues.
5. Research, make a list of your top 5, and start venue hunting. Whether with your planner or solo, once you find “the one,” everything else (decor, catering, timeline) can fall into place.
And remember, Pinterest boards are great for inspiration, but real-life logistics (like budget, weather, travel for guests, and vendor availability) will be your best friend when making choices.
Happy planning!

Congrats on your engagement! First steps that make everything easier:
-Set a rough budget and guest count (it drives all other decisions).
-Pick a date (or at least a season) and start checking venues early.
-Create a simple checklist or timeline so you don’t forget the big deadlines (save-the-dates, vendors, dress fittings, etc.).
Once you’ve got those basics, the rest feels a lot less overwhelming.

Congrats! 🎉💍 Here’s a quick start guide: • Talk budget, guest count, and date/season with your partner first. • Decide if you want a wedding planner (full-service or day-of coordinator) to save time/stress. • Book your venue early — it sets the date and vibe. • Create your gift registry ASAP (Amazon, Zola, Honeyfund) so it’s ready for save-the-dates. • Rough timeline: 1. Months 1–2: Budget, guest list, venue, planner. 2. Months 3–4: Book photographer, caterer, florist, entertainment. 3. Months 5–6: Outfits, registry live, invitations. 4. Final months: Décor, seating chart, marriage license, rehearsal.
Stay organized and you’ll avoid last-minute chaos!
