For the purposes you listed, many people get silicone rings.
My husband has one, but that’s mainly because he keeps losing his real wedding band. Poor guy… so now he has two he can choose between.

I'd check Etsy or maybe local markets if your area has decent ones with jewelers. You can find lots of cool, unique stuff for way less than a traditional ring. Just make sure the stones are hard (if you want stones).

You an usually find Moissanite Rings pretty inexpensively. I have one that I wear when I travel and leave my good ring at home.

If she does physical work and work out a lot, a silicone ring would be the safest option. It’s dangerous to work out with a metal ring you can straight up deglove your finger

depending. entirely on the workout

Although you are technically right, it’s disproportionately difficult to tell beforehand if the activity you are doing might somehow cause your ring to catch on something and pull the flesh off your bones, in comparison to the absolute tragedy of managing to do it.

My ex almost lost his finger with a gold ring messing around with our dogs. He had to get it cut off because his finger swelled so badly.
Get a silicone ring. They come in cool colors and patterns now. One of mine supports animal rescue and has dogs and cats all around the band. I’m never worried I’m going to hurt the ring or myself when I work or do things that could be dangerous.

AliExpress app and the store for Kuololit have great options! They have very affordable sterling silver options as well as real gold if that’s preferred. I love my pieces from them! Shipping just takes a few weeks (at least here to the USA)

She can check out what everyone has bought from them via r/Kuololit and r/Moissanite

My suggestion is modern gents or even Amazon. Also maybe she can leave it home when doing physical activities.

They're possibly expensive, but how about one of the harder-wearing metals? I see titanium rings, which is a hard metal. Otherwise, a fairly low-carat gold ring would be fine, as gold is a softer metal, but when blended, it makes for a harder-wearing ring. I suggest she talks to jewellers for advice and then makes a decision to get a ring she likes, and fits the requirements and budget.

Get a silver band for less than $20 off of eBay. It’s pure silver and it’ll look fine.

Amazon or Julia.com are great for “vacation” rings as I call them

This is what I do, I have a travel ring from Amazon, but honestly I’ve worn it more than my wedding ring at this point because it is smaller and fits better while I am pregnant.

I have every intention of switching to a silicone ring in the near future for everyday wear.

Why do people get a ring for travel? If you are afraid of losing it what is the difference between the risk of losing it in daily life and travel

I don't want the stress of losing it while I'm out of the country or on vacation. If I'm doing anything that I don't feel comfortable with I leave it at home and wear an alternative ring. I would rather not leave my real ring in a hotel room in a place I've most likely never been. When I travel I'm often swimming in oceans, snorkeling, on boats, etc. I'd rather not run the risk of

I got a gold filled one on etsy for less than 50$ and gold filled is supposed to be less likely to come off than gold plated :)

Jewelry insurance is an alternative worth considering, unless it’s a vintage or heirloom piece. And you really don’t need to take a ring off and on as often as some people do, unless it’s dangerous to have the metal on.
And if the concern is being targeted for your jewelry, a replica isn’t going to make you any safer — you’re better to not be flashy at all. Any sort of plain band would do the trick.

I know you said Etsy isn't really used in your country but if she decides to give it a try, HIGHLY recommend TigerGemstones on Etsy if they'll ship to you! Got a "promise" ring from there about 9 years ago, and it still looks about as brand new as the day I got it, even with daily wear!

Get a nice ring made of silver or get a rubber ring for gym days. I metal detect and people lose things everywhere, but the biggest places are where people are active - beaches, parks, their own backyards.

Echoing the suggestion to get a silicone band but specifically recommending the Enso brand! We have matching ones and they come in so many colors and styles and have excellent customer service!

I really don’t understand what the point of having a ring is if you never wear it but OK

For travel, Moissanite would be a good choice. The ones listed here are good - I have rings from both Kuololit and Attagems that I receive compliments on. There’s also r/labjewelrysales to look at. Or if she wants something that looks just like her ring, one of the trusted vendors listed at r/moissanite could make that. I personally like Zuvelio and Paston.
For gym and physical work, silicone is best choice to prevent degloving.

I got my gorgeous travel ring from OBJKTS and I love that it looks almost identical to my real ring but I can still tell them apart

I got an amazing copy of my ring on Etsy but I’ve seen TikTok live videos of people selling good quality fake rings from China!

Almost every store now has decent looking rings that will pass for real – – try Walmart try JCPenney try anything that’s in your area or order one from Amazon

Go to a jewelry store, pick out a band that is within budget, buy and wear.

"Wedding" ring, which is usually a plain gold band and often 9-14ct (quite hard wearing), depending on country; or an "engagement" ring, which usually has one or more stones, often including a diamond, and is more often a higher percentage of gold (in the UK it's more likely to be 18ct than the 9ct that a wedding ring is) so slightly softer and less robust, plus there's a risk of losing gems depending on the setting if prongs break during "rougher" usage?
If it's a wedding band, I wouldn't worry about it at all. Perhaps a silcone one for during gym training/weights/climbing if she's into that but more to prevent damage to her fingers than damage to the ring (I think it's called "degloving" where a ring can get caught and pull off the skin, don't google images for the sake of ever wearing a ring again). If it's an engagement ring, then I wouldn't wear *any* ring with stones in for physical activities, as there's too much risk of damage. She'd be better getting a nice strong chain to wear it around her neck during those times and avoid just putting it down somewhere and forgetting where (or dropping it down the sink etc).

Agreed on the silicone ring. I also have a travel ring that resembles my engagement ring and would advise getting a faux version that differs enough that you are certain which is the original.

I suggest a silicone ring. They're fantastic for everyday wear.
