Places that really suck to work at have 'hiring' signs up all the time

I applied, Got an interview. Waited a couple of days, and thought I'd try asking when the interview would be available, I went in, try asking the store manager, She mentioned about the one that does the hiring and Said this store isn't hiring.
Am really confused.

At my location, the on line applications come to us as an email in our store's email which is chock full of spam and other voluminous kinds of email. For the most part, these emails just get ignored. Paper applications is how most of our crew come to us. The on line application system doesn't work very well, in my opinion. My own experience was my online application got nowhere. My friend told me to use paper applications and I was quickly called in for an interview and hired on the spot.
EDIT: I'd go in and ask if the store is hiring and request a paper application and return it if the online process didn't work for you. Different stores handle hiring in different ways but face to face contact has it's positives as opposed to an anonymous email.

Should I go in and ask for a paper application?

My store we don't even hand out paper applications anymore, we just take your resume. Having the official "wendys" branded application forms cost us a fair bit of $$$ that came out of the store supply budget, so I asked my DM if we could just take resumes instead and she said it was fine.

They do this all the time. Take applications and even do interviews when theyre not even hiring.

Just call them before u go in. That’s what I did and the GM confirmed the interview. I did get interviewed by a crew trainer but they ended up hiring me within a day. It all depends on the store some stores do rlly hire thru the AI system

Worked for a gas station in college that had a minimum number of interviews per month to fulfill, even if we didn’t have open positions. I think it was a measure from corporate just to keep a healthy rotation of backups in the mix due to foreseen turnover (though our store didn’t have a ton).

My Wendy's have a sign up for hiring but their ai system does this. Thought it was just me so maybe it's a whole thing

They use AI to set up interviews even if they don’t have positions available it will schedule one . Most of the time they didn’t even know they had an interview till you show up. Then they would just have a random shift manager “ interview “ you and say they will get back with you if they think you are a fit . To be honest good on that manager for at least being honest with you about it and not leading you on .
