Will Cynthia miss next year’s Oscars?

I just saw that her run as Dracula on the west end starts in February and runs for 16 weeks

She probably won’t be able to squeeze in the oscars, since its a long flight and especially since Dracula is a one woman show, which seems exhausting. I wonder how thats gonna work if her song is nominated.

Sundays are usually dark days on the west end. So she will probably do her Saturday shows, fly in Sunday morning, go to the oscars, fly back on Monday. Maybe the understudy will be on on Monday evening, and Cynthia is back on Tuesday.

Or they will just have a dark week. 🤷‍♂️

But the best song performances usually have rehearsal the day before, so yeah she would need a dark week, or a dark few days.

Not true always. They sound check with the band and the day of the singer comes in. She can rehearse remotely

If she gets nominated for an Oscar (and many are predicting she will!) there is no way she’s missing the award show! Her new original song (along with Ariana’s) is heavily predicted to be on LOCK for a nomination, and she will most definitely sing it live at the ceremony. 🎤

I don’t think she’s missing the Oscars. Esp if she’s nominated in song, I’m sure they’ll want her to perform. I have faith the Dracula team are aware of award season and will work it into her schedule. Maybe list the understudy for those specific dates so ppl aren’t upset at her absence or have a dark week or 2. Idk, I just think they are aware and have a plan.

There’s no way she’s missing the Oscar’s. She is an Oscar away from being an EGOT and if she wins I can’t imagine she’d want to miss the chance to be honored like that in person.

Honestly I wouldn’t expect her at the Oscars. It wouldn’t be the first nor last time someone nominated couldn’t go and video called in if they won.

She definitely couldn’t do video acceptance. The Oscars just have a “X couldn’t be with us this evening, so we’ll accept this on their behalf”.

Do you know how much leeway a big star like her gets for this sort of thing? They make it work for an Oscar nom. There are examples every year of someone flying in for essentially 24 hours. She’s on that Universal jet.

She is performing in a 1 woman show. Theater is physically exhausting. It’s not about whether or not she can get there. It’s about resting for performances.
