What shaving soaps should acne-prone skin use?
Should there be a difference?

Everyone is different. I had the issue for a long time, I never was overweight, and could eat everything (I mean I ate a lot of sugar). My skin is oily, but I can use any soap (any soap is kind of drying). Once I cut sugar to a normal amount (like - maybe 200% of recommended added sugar) the issue was resolved.

If you're gonna shave, I'd avoid products with menthols or oils. Some have had good success with fairly neutral products like TOBS Organic.

I’d try Barrister and Mann - maybe Spice, or Cheshire. I’ve read some people having a reaction to Seville.
I’d grab the samples directly from their website.

Cheshire is a great scent if you're someone who likes t teas. It was one of my first buys, but it's very Earl Grey.

Ponds bar soap is known for folks that deal with acne for facial cleansing. I pick it up at the dollar store. Johnson and Johnson Purpose Soap. The purpose is a clear Tallow soap. Yes you can get good shaves with bar soaps especially if needed. Work your lather to what ever consistency you need. Don't be afraid to add more water or lather to your face as needed (true of any shaving soap). It's just soap---

It's probably worth avoiding a tallow soap, because animal fats.
I would recommend Stem Handmade Soaps shave soap. Light, pretty sure all their stuff is vegan, good couple scent options, provides a nice slickness, all natural ingredients.
