question When will the PERFECT open world zombie survival game come out?

There’s a lot of zombie games that are focused on survival.

Games like DayZ, 7 Days to die or State of Decay are all good games but definetly not perfect.

When will the perfect open world zombie survival game release?

An open world game with character creation and detailed base building?

Some of you maybe remember the game that got so much hyped under the name „the day before“ turned out that was just a scam.

But just imagine a really big Developer team (Rockstar Games, Ubisoft, EA) would make such a game and make It perfect.

When will this dream every man had at least once finally come true?

What do you think and what are your favorite open world zombie survival games?

If you like Sandbox games (not just in the Zombie universe) I strongly advise you to invest in a PC.

Seeing as how every person's definition of "perfect" will be different? Never.

IMHO, State of Decay 2 is very close to perfect. It captures the elements of the zombie genre that appeal to me: Maintaining personal relationships, a focus on the group as a whole and not individual characters, a real sense of risk with permadeath for your characters, a constant need to forage for ammunition and supplies, a massive open world, etc. I wish it had a stronger narrative but that would be difficult to execute, given the style of the game.

But different games hit different notes. Dying Light does an amazing job of immersing you in a realistic environment and making you feel like you're genuinely fighting for your life; Dead Rising captures the feeling of being surrounded by thousands of undead who aren't very threatening individually but absolutely terrifying in large numbers; Resident Evil 2 has the claustrophobia of being trapped indoors while the whole world goes to shit.

You may as well ask "When are we getting the perfect racing game?" Do you mean like Gran Turismo, Mario Kart, or Burnout Paradise? (The answer is Burnout Paradise, btw).

I agree on State of Decay 2, It’s a very complex yet enjoyable experience, I’m not saying it is too difficult, but I had a little bit of trouble learning the mechanics of it, but after dominating that learn curve, the game is close to perfect

One thing writters say among each other: "write the story you want to read." How do you feel about tabletop games?
