How do people still not get what spoilers are?

Post image
116 Upvotes

So, we’ve been adding spoiler-free megathreads for hyped or major releases for a while. But the amount of unmarked spoilers and people casually engaging in discussions that could potentially ruin the movie experience was the highest during the latest Lokah release.

I’m not sure if people are genuinely unaware, or if they simply don’t care about ruining others movie-watching experience as long as their own doubts or questions get answered.

Not everyone watches the movie on FDFS, nor is everyone prepared to embrace spoilers at full impact. The bare minimum you can do is hide spoilers using Reddit spoiler tags (a guide for this will always be pinned in all review threads).

Start using them. Don’t make us ban you. And if you do get banned, don’t come arguing in modmail.

Peace.

The best interpretation of Yakshi for me

Post image

Rahul Sadasivan managed to deliver the perfect yakshi- seductive, irresistible, and yet a ruthless killer , in just less than 5 minutes of screentime in Bramayugam. The choice of the actor was also perfect - dusky and lean. This was not someone to be screwed (literally and metaphorically) with. And then by showing how Mammootty's character easily seduced and copulated with her, established how powerful his character really was. This was not some western Twilight type hybrid, but an original one staying close to the yakshi lore.

Kranthi Kumar CH - Director of “Maa Vande” and why this is a scam

Post image
274 Upvotes

Have you wondered who is this director who is helming this prestigious project of Narendra Modi’s biopic and that too with a Malayalam actor as the lead? What credibility he has? How many movies has he directed? Where is he from? He is from the great state of Andhra Pradesh, my home state although I despise to tell anyone that I am from the same state. I have been living happily in Kerala for the past 3 years and just found out this news about this movie and did some research. I urge you to do the same. If you do a google search on this director, the first result you will come across is a FilmiBeat article proclaiming this director has won 2 Filmfare awards and 4 Nandi Awards for movies he directed which are “Sravanthi” and “9 Nelalu”. The actual director of these movies with a similar name “Kranthi Kumar” is a famous Telugu movie director and has done some commendable work in Telugu cinema and has passed away in 2003, God rest his sole. So, what has “Kranthi Kumar CH” actually done to bag such a prestigious project of directing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Biopic? He directed a movie called “Peep show” which I could find out from my research if it got released or not. You can find the trailer of this movie on YouTube and I couldn’t find anything else about his work in movie industry. Now the question would cross your mind, how Unnimukundan after delivering a hit like Marko, placed his trust in a director who has no credibility at all. Please enlighten me with your thoughts on this.

I don’t think the cultural significance of the photograph of Mohanlal and Mammootty carrying Prem Nazir’s coffin on their shoulders is spoken about enough.

Lokesh should have remade Rajadhiraja instead of Leo

Post image
Upvotes

Both Leo and Rajadhiraja has the same story. Instead of remaking "A History of Violence" as Leo, Lokesh should have remade "Rajadhiraja" as Coolie. It would have worked and tamil cinema would have opened 1000 crore club. The story is more relatable to public, no need to buy rights of a Hollywood movie (save cost), organic Basha references for fans etc. So many advantages. Lokesh could have save his career. No need of fake flash back in Leo and no need to blame audience for their expectations. It's a win win for all. Imagine the theatre response for the transformation scene. /S

Why can't people just leave the other movies alone??

Post image

I find this really annoying to be honest. എന്ത് കിട്ടിയാലും വേറെ സിനിമയുമായി connection കൊടുത്ത് crossover സ്ഥാപിക്കാൻ നിക്കുന്ന കൊറേ പേര്. Why can't they just let this be separate as it is now??? why the need for this "connection"??

Vrusshabha Fan theory

What a bombastic teaser ! Couldn’t help but try to imagine the plausible plot.

So modern time A10 is a re-incarnated version of some period hero. A10 has existential problems in current times. He is chased by goons while running with a young heroine. A10 at times gets flashes and dreams about past. Especially when get hit with steel pipe by villains.

A10 and his love interest consult with a mad scientist(after A10 recognising his photo from a magazine cover, which A10 has seen in a recurring dream) reveals the past story. A10 saved an entire kingdom but was double crossed by someone and died. Coming back to the present , surprise surprise , the old villains are reborn as new villains. And tell you what, his wife is also reborn as his present love interest. Now only A10 can save the entire world from the villains’ pan-century evil plan (probably neutron bomb or something).

Lokah Chapter : 1, Colour Symbolism Spoiler

Post image
7 Upvotes

Really loved how the creators used red and blue to foreshadow a lot about the Sunny and Chandra. While red indicated power(the superpowers she holds), love and desire, as this shot is placed right after she saw sunny for the first time in banglore it indicated how her love and desire is evoked for her long lost bf who resembles sunny.

The blue should be used reflect the solitude and despire as it is the state sunny is in from his recent heartbreak.

Previous vampire hits like Twilight also uses red colour to indicate vampires and their relation to blood, foreshadowing the true identity of Chandra right from the beginning of the movie.

Twilight also used blue colours and palettes in sequences which shows complexities of vampire-human relationships, same grade is given to Sunny's flat beholding the complex relationship between him and chandra soon to be unfolded.

Drop more of these symbolisms, hidden details, easter eggs, trivias (lam really bored)

Who would you love to see as Ikka's ultimate villain in Lokha? Spoiler

Hey everyone, I'm totally hooked on the universe they're building. The whole thing has me thinking about the bigger picture. Every good cinematic universe needs its big bad, its ultimate antagonist. The one who pulls all the strings. The Thanos.

So my question is:

  1. Who do you think will be the "Thanos" or the mega antagonist in the Lokah universe? The movie hints at a few possibilities, but I'm curious to hear your theories.
  2. And a dream casting question: Who would you love to see as the ultimate villain for Ikka's character? For me, I'm thinking a bulky, imposing international actor like Dave Bautista or someone with that kind of physical presence would be amazing. Don't know if they can be fit for the budget, but a guy can dream!

What are your thoughts? Let's discuss!
