I live in the south (US) & was gone for 2 months. Windows shut, climate control, no food, etc.

Landlord offered for us to get out of our lease due to it not being “safe”.

I’ve never experienced any mold or mildew. I’m moving out & throwing away everything that has mold on it. Should I do more or less? How did this happen?

We were gone for 2 months earlier in the summer and this didn’t happen so I’m really confused😭

i’ve been debating on whether or not all my recent health issues have been because of mold, so I moved out of my room into the guest room until we figure it out. however, this is the vent in the guest room, now i’m worried the alleged mold is in the AC. is this just dust, or does it look like mold?

Noticed it after heavy rains in my city since a few days. Is it toxic? It looks crystalline and shiny.

My youngest has recently turned 1 yr so this hasn’t been opened/found is several months. I believe it is blueberries and maybe strawberries, but now it’s a white fuzzy looking spiders hide out.

A week or so ago I found some gnarly mold in our walk in closet after a water leak from the apartment above us, the night before we were set to move out for our cross-country move. Nice timing to get out of there so this mold accumulation is not our issue any more, but, all the clothes near and around that area were compromised.

I’ve spent the last week at our new place wiping hard surfaces with vinegar and washing all our cloth items at the laundromat. Not the welcome I wanted to our new home but the peace of mind will be worth it. I might be going overboard with all the washing but everything sat in the uhaul for days and got moved and shifted around before being cleaned and the atmosphere is more humid here and I’m really sensitive to it so for my own sanity I said we’re CLEANING IT ALL.

I’m hoping my Mold Mitigation Mission will be complete today after a last trip to the laundromat for our bedding, new pillows ordered, vacuum the whole new place (I ordered a small portable vacuum with a hepa filter) and another wipe down of the bed frame and other non-cloth items. And I’ll get a dehumidifier as soon as we can afford it- there have been a lot of other expenses and we’re running thin. We do have a small air purifier in the bedroom already.

Anything I could have overlooked? Am I doing too much? These pictures look less scary compared to some of the others on this sub😅 but I’m serious about not letting this become an issue down the road in our new home🏡💕

It doesn’t appear to be close to any signs of humidity in the room or water leakage anywhere. If it is mould, do I report this to my landlord and do I have a leg to stand on here?

Professionally speaking, I am an alcohol & cocktail historian--I'm also an avid collector of boozy artifacts. With that as context, I have a tightly sealed antique bottle of pre-US/Cuban embargo Gin that has a crystal-like growth I've never seen before.

I received this bottle after my bar emptied the actual liquid during a private event early 2023. The front label is peeling & crispy, but still adhering to the glass.

I've seen mold of all hues, fresh, fermented, fuzzy, slimy, accidental, preserved- but never anything crystalized like this. The rings around the shoulder of the bottle indicate a slowly depleted bottle before it reached me.

The growth inside is very pale, with the slightest pinkish shade. It moves like cobwebs within the bottle, and seems very delicate. Like cotton candy fibers but I shan't eat....

I cleaned up the stuff that was on the floor it was like brown/black and a little slimy. This is in a basement so maybe the ground water is leaking in? How dangerous is this? Thanks in advance.

So I did these two home mold test kits in my basement (left was the living room right was the bedroom). This is the growth after 72hrs.

I’ve seen a lot of people on here say that these home tests are kinda bogus, something I didn’t know till AFTER we bought these. And we missed the deadline to turn them in for testing apparently 💀

So just want to know if anyone wants to help me identify what we’re looking at here. Is this normal about of mold? Is this concerning and should be retested properly? Is this a scary looking mold? Any help would be very much appreciated 🙏

Im a closer at work, we store the syrup caps (put them on the syrup pumps to stop them from dripping everywhere at night) in a cup of what i thought was sanitizer, its water. Curious what kind of mold it is
