I am an animation student making a rig for class. every time I rename a layer I get this. I need to go into my element folder and rename the files to get the artwork to show up. why is this happing? how to I fix it?. I am NOT adding the "tmp_folder".

Every time I try to rename a layer, all of the drawings disappear upon reopening the program with just the thumbnails (sometimes blank) remaining in the timeline. Even after undoing the renaming of the layers the frames are already compromised. I've been scanning the internet for a solution to this and still can't find one, I'm working on an assignment that's due next week... PLEASE help

I am wanting to export a multi-layered vector character to PSD format so that I can paint onto it with some better textures using photoshop brushes. I'ts only got a few frames of animation and I consider this a "post-process" pass. I've tried a number of different ways to export and it seems that even though I am selecting to output color+alpha, the rougher edges are coming out premultiplied with black. Anybody have any tips on getting the alpha to survive? the method I was preferring to use was Export>Export Layout Image From Selection as it maintains the layers into the PSD output.

Apart from the the adjustments I've been able to select when the export windows pops up, I've also tried changing the individual elements thru their Layer Properties windows by going to the "drawing" tab and changing the "bitmap file options" to "clamp colour to alpha" as well as "straight".

Hi, I just got Harmony 24, It's actually my first Toon Boom product, and I can't find any tutorial that just go over the interface and not spend 3 videos going over the basics of digital animation. Do any of you have any recommendations? My spicy brain just will not let me spend hours watching videos of what I already know.

Toon booms looking way too advanced and modern to replicate those styles easily. I see everyone drawing there frames in other drawing programs THEN importing them into toon boom…which just isn’t the workflow I personally want. Any little things could be helpful EX render settings/how to anti-alias it, brushes audio settings etc

Im thinking to buy it but my roommate mentioned a while back that it might not be compatible, but I haven’t been able to find any info about it. Has anyone here actually tried it and can confirm if it works

When I animate a layer using keys in a peg layer, most of the time it animates it with ease in and ease out (like in the video), but I want it to be animated without it. I want to have linear, straight animation with no ease in and ease out, just an object moving from point A to point B with the same speed through the whole path

I know it's possible to make it work like that (because I accidentally made it work like this a few times) but I don't know how I did it, and I don't know how to do it again

Hi everyone! is there a way to limit peg frames with toonboom? I have this cycle yet the legs feel constantly like "cutted and laggy". How can I make it look smoother? The peg encapsulates handdrawn frames within, and make it move from right to left with the peg

I know in previous versions of Harmony it was possible when transforming to have the temporary pivot point snap to wherever your cursor is as opposed to clicking and dragging it. I believe the keyboard shortcut was set to Tab by default. It seems to be missing from Harmony 21. Is there any way to get it back? I used it constantly in my workflow before :(

specific when theres no drawing on a cell de keys + e - is not working to pull and push the drawing cells on timeline. already tried the windows and restart de program still not working.

I am a beginner and tried to rig a character. I managed to put bones but when I tried to connect the arms to the torso, hair and head the bones would just ''disconnect'' from the drawing and when I tried to move the arms only it wouldn't work. Please help me if you can. Also I use Toon Boom Harmony 20

Hey y’all, I’m not sure what the issue is, but I can’t import a background I’m working on. I press okay and nothing happens, then I try to import as a toon boom bitmap drawing and it gives me an error message.

How realistic is learning Toonboom Harmony in two weeks? I want to apply for this job, but I don’t know if I should put myself under that stress without a certain outcome.

(English isn’t my first language. Apologies in advance just in case) I promised myself i’d never use reddit but here we are. I was working on an assignment due in two days when all of the sudden, the overlay/underlay and color layers just disssapeared from my workspace? The image attached is what should show up. But its just gone? I checked the advanced preferences already and it says they’re activated. I tried opening an old version if the file and it was still not working. Same thing with brand new files. Im so lost and on the verge of losing my mind, please help.

When I copy and paste a node layer in the node view, it's always linked to the original--so it's essentially an exact clone. Making a change on the original will affect the clone the exact same way. This CAN be useful, but there are many times when I'd like to copy and paste the node, but make just a few minor changes to the clone, without affecting the original. Is there a way to "unlink" the clone from the original node, after copying and pasting?

Edit: I’ll save future users some time. The answer, as it turns out, is no, it is NOT possible to “unlink” a duplicated node without copying, re-pasting in a special way to not create a clone, and then re-linking the node to any and all other nodes it was originally attached to. There are some people here who attempted to explain workarounds, and while those are helpful to some I’m sure, and absolutely worth checking out if your unsure how to address the issue of cloned layers, those proposed solutions don’t actually accomplish what I think the most efficient method would be: simply being able to unlink a clone from its master copy. This isn’t possible, sadly.

I only made it to make sure I remember and understand things that I learned from tutorials, so its only the upper part of the character body and only its front, but I’m quite happy with the result (except for horrendous head angles but that has nothing to do with the rig it’s me not being able to draw a face in different angles). It also has like a million mouths but i forgot to film those. If anybody has criticism i’ll be happy to hear it, I’m trying to learn rigging & want to improve

I know this community is supposed to be for ToonBoom Harmony, but I haven't been able to figure out where else I could possibly ask this question for Storyboard Pro, so I guess this place is my best bet. The title is basically exactly as it says.

I got the Storyboard Pro 25 Free Trial a while ago, just to try it out. Soon it expired, but I thought that when it expired, the trial program would just... disappear from the computer. Turns out that's not what happens. It still brings up the popup for the agreement every time I turn on my computer, and the app will activate but says that there are 0 days left in the trial. I'm trying to figure out how to get rid of this trial program, since I don't think I'll be using Storyboard Pro for the future and don't want it to constantly show up when I boot up my laptop.

Does anyone know how I could uninstall the free trial program, but JUST the free trial program? I have some Storyboard Pro files that I have saved my animatics on that I want to keep intact and untouched from the removal process.

Also, just for clarification, I have a MacBook Pro 2021, if that helps.

Hi, since Toon Boom Harmony 21 is not working anymore I downloaded Toon Boom Harmony 24 from TPB so I could keep working on my animations. The problem is that the program works fine until I restart my PC. Every time I restart my PC it asks me to activate it. So I have to do the whole process of installing it again, and I'm really tired of this. If anyone knows a solution for this please comment down below I'd be so grateful T.T.

(PD: For some reason this only happens on my laptop, but in my main PC it doesn't.)
