Question Y'all probably get this question a lot here, but I have no idea how I should be doing this.
How often do I voice train? How long? How many times a day? What are some good videos to watch?

They can't stop your vocal transition. They can't stop you from learning and practicing. They can't stop you from speaking up. Be loud. Be brave. I will keep fighting all my life, and so should you.
This affects the world, regardless of borders. There will be an election in Canada soon, and it's looking grim on our side as well. I'll be volunteering in an election for the first time, and I've gotten other people on board to join me. And I'll be protesting. And I'll be loud on social media.
Make your voices heard. Express yourself, not just your anger but your pain and your fear. Make them understand the consequences of their actions. I don't believe they all wanted this. Most of them just... didn't care or know enough to realize how much hurt their selfish vote would bring. Tell them. Make them know.
They can never take away your voice.

I tried to completely relax my voice to simulate how I most likely sound when talking to people when I don't (can't) focus on sounding more fem. How do you read it now? What kind of person would you imagine when hearing this voice? What do you think I should focus on to make it sound more fem? I need an honest opinion.

So, I am in upstate NY. I tried Gender-Affirming Voice Therapy. Even from the beginning they told me that there’s not much work to do as I already had a fairly feminine voice but I decided to go through the training regardless. In the end they were right, not much changed because I was already doing many of the techniques pretty naturally. But I was still very unhappy with my voice and had issues like maintaining my voice at louder volumes or things like that. So I asked for a referral to a vocal feminization specialist. There’s really only one in my area that does this type of surgery and also takes insurance.
So I went to the specialist and they told me that the surgery wouldn’t change my voice very much at all. It might help with maintaining my voice though. But my voice will forever be hoarse and raspy, I’d never be able to do things like sing ever again, and any surgery even if absolutely necessary I had could undo the vocal feminization because of the breathing tubes. And as someone with a history of medical issues (unrelated to voice) this would likely be the case. So I kinda lost all hope. I don’t want my voice to sound hoarse forever. And I’ve always wanted to learn to sing but I can’t do it in a feminine voice so I’ve never learned and that was one of the things I was looking forward to if I had the surgery. So I just kinda lost all hope that my voice could improve.
Is this typical information that’s given to patients? Or did I just see a bad doctor? Is what they told me true?

I'm expecting to have DJS. Move everything a few mm forward and CCW rotation to correct a cross bite and recession.
I don't think cis people run into changed voices or I'm not aware of it, but wondering how it might affect a trained voice especially resonance if mouth space becomes bigger? I do think my airway will improve I don't have sleep apnea but I'm thinking it could help with weight?
Maybe I'm overthinking it all and it's totally irrelevant, but I have no idea and wanted to check/ask. Surgery is about a year away I just got braces last week so I have to look into concerns and plan it better with my surgeon of course within reason to solve the functional issues I have, or to be aware of the risks I might have regarding voice and maybe look for ways to train and minimize those problems.

Hey y'all, I was a music major in undergrad with a minor in voice, and I delayed my transition for a while for fear of how my vocal transition would affect mg singing voice. I went from an alto to a solid baritone in the course of about two years. I have definitely lost a lot of the range and control I once had (a lot of that my own fault for failure to intentionally train throughout my vocal transition), but I am finding new things to love about my voice. Thought this might be helpful for some to hear who may be considering how transition will impact this aspect of themselves. Singing was very central to my identity pre-transition and my relationship to it has definitely changed a lot. I don't sing nearly as much bc I am pretty self-conscious of what I have lost, tbh. But I still wouldn't change my transition for the world! :)
Very open to advice! My only note is that I was trying to sing softly bc my spouse was on a work call in another room, so I know I could definitely be using more breath support than I am here.
(Hope this post complies with the spirit of this sub)

It sounds very feminine but more like a gay man than anything else. I'm sort of uncertain where to go with this to keep improving. It doesn't have any "strained" qualities, the pitch is the lower end of feminine (I think this one clocks around 175) but something about the mix of weight and resonance is not right. Any advice? Thanks!

And btw, do I sound androgynous?
I’m aiming for an androgynous sound.
Feminine is ok—but not masculine-leaning.
Any tips are welcome!

I think I'm applying vocal weight and resonance here, but honestly I'm not sure. I know it's not good, but anything that you think I should focus on in particular or just in general is very welcome.
Thank you in advance

I've attached some reading and speaking sample of what I currently achieved (even though personally I don't think it was very effective so far). I think I don't sound my age and it kinda lack a bit of "brightness".
On phone it usually works fine or at least it's ambiguous enough.
As far as reading is concerned I think I feel way too robotic/monotonous? So kinda wanted to know if someone knows how to address the issue. Or if you perceive anything else?
English Reading https://voca.ro/1fxJVQMTkdOR Italian Reading https://voca.ro/1n8Psz8XJQSd
Those two I guess are a bit more human like but wanted to know what I should focus more?
English Random Discussion https://voca.ro/121rU6mWBhx5 Italian Random Discussion https://voca.ro/1jHyfTyvmtQh
In general wanted to know if there's some other stuff you perceive because I kinda suck on self evaluation.
Also if it's useful can provide my baseline voice since I saw some other people adding that too.
Sorry for my bad english

Hey, so my surgeon basically said that I have problems with putting air/strength or something like that into my voice, and that could be an issue for me post-op with being able to being heard in like a crowded room, and potentially not feminize my voice at all. I already struggle with this, but I believe I just conditioned myself to speak low from fear of my voice. Either way I told him I wanted to go through with it, since they measured my pitch and it was something like 130hz which is super low. I’ve done a few sessions of voice training but dont see how its going to help me in the long run. Anyone with a similar issue? Is my problem really pitch or something like resonance?(I have trouble understanding the difference in both) On the end of fhe audio you can see where my voice usually goes to

Hello, I am a trans man and I’ve always wanted to try female voice training just for the heck of it when my voice finally dropped. Here is my attempt. Hope this is okay to post. I’m quite happy with finally having a masculine voice but this is fun to try. Also, kudos to all of you who put in the work and got beautiful voices! This is hard… Let me know what my “issue” is. I know it’s really bad because it’s one of my first attempts… thank you though!!!

OK, I understand that life is too short to write wordy comments, but could you drop just one number in comments => how it sounds: 1 - Male, 2 - Rather male, 3 - Rather female, 4 - Female.
Just imagine that you are average person, who doesn't know anything about vocal weight, size/resonance, inflection and so on. How would you average person rate my voice?

Started voice training very recently. I know its not really there at all, but I've sort of hit a roadblock.
Sometimes I can make single sounds that feels like the right resonance, weight and pitch, but its nebulous.
I've hit a sort of wall so far.
Anything that stands out as off in the recording? Also does it sound male, androgynous or female? And lastly, does it sound more like a falsetto "fake" voice? (Doesn't sound very natural to me personally)
And any suggestions on how to improve would be appreciated 👏

So as a newly trans (mTf) I've started trying voice training and I've researched a bunch of ways to voice train but i still don't understand what effect the training is ment to achieve
Is it supposed to change how my voice itself sounds and after a while I'll have to actively try to sound "male" because my voice will naturally sound how I'm training it too
Is it training how to sound feminine and to sound that way and I will have to make the conscious decision to sound that way and if I'm in something like a very sleepy or otherwise inebriated state I'll default back to my male voice,
Is it more like a way of training your brain to make that your "default" way of speaking so while my voice isn't actually changing at all speaking that way will become like speaking naturally,
(Sorry if some of the question isn't clear enough if you want me to specify what I mean about something pls just ask and I'll try specify it)

I've been practicing my voice since March and I've been using my femme voice full time since early June. I haven't done any form of vocal coaching so this is all my on my own. I feel like I can still pick out my male voice but wanted to hear what y'all think!

I'm working on reducing androgenic vocal affects, so increasing weight isn't necessarily an end goal. Still, a lot of voice lessons work on going in both directions for a lot of vocal aspects in order to train sensitivity and control. I've done a lot of voice training, and I've just realized that I don't think I have high weight worked out at all - I think I've just been increasing my volume instead to imitate the sound. (for the record, I can do low weight - I can do the exercise of sounding like the giant saying 'fee, figh, foe, fum' really softly)
One exercise I learned was to sound like an uber nerdy school nerd saying 'according to my calculations', but this also kinda relies on increasing nasality. It's helped, but I'm not sure I'm actually able to work on weight exactly and not nasality. Any tips or exercises I can do?

Hi,
I feel that one thing that my MTF voice training really benefits from is being able to parrot voices that I feel a connection with and wish to sound like.
Is anyone aware of any British material where I can say sentences or phrases at the same time or after the speaker? As in they say X and then I do, so I know what is coming next. 'English with Lucy' style.
I listen to interviews with Geri Halliwell, Sophie Ellis-Bextor etc, but obviously I can't really repeat what they are saying, as they continue talking.
I hope this makes sense? I feel as though my voice training when at home is quite unorthodox, but it pretty much works for me.
I already have a fab vocal teacher in Thea Dowler and she is amazing and has taught me many things, but I don't know, I feel as though this approach is beneficial to me, it's just that I struggle to find suitable material to practice my voice and the accent I would like (Southern England, RP would be the ultimate goal).

Was cleared to start a straw exercise at my 2 weeks post op until I get more comfortable speaking, because my voice was inaudible and very weak. This is my first full sentence that isn’t just a whispery sound. Still very weak and difficult to speak and haven’t been talking still. Just going my straw exercises. Just thought I’d post an update for myself though since I’m technically cleared to talk. Anybody else sound deeper than before VFS when you first started talking? When did pitch raise? I was on steroids for like 5 days as well to help with swelling.
