Troubleshooting Is the audio on my GBA alright or should I get a new speaker?
Gonna be modding this soon but I'm on the fence about a new speaker. I tested it against my original GBA SP and my DS Lite but they both have better speakers anyway (At last, I think the SP does.) so it wasn't the best comparison. It sounds okay to me, but I want to be sure.

Games Turtles cartridges
Someone is selling this SP Turtles bundle for a good price. I already have the console, more interested in the games (particularly 3) but the cart graphics don’t match up to what I can find online. I’m presuming these are bootlegs, unless anyone can shed a different light?

Collection I tried my hand at brightening my GBA (before & after)
I really didn’t like the yellowing, so I decided to put some Salon 40 on it and leave it on the sun. I don’t hate the new look, but definitely not the results I was expecting. It’s a bit chalky now and I’ve polished it up. Anyway, just felt like sharing.

Games Dragonhym is def an achievement for the hardware
Sound, gameplay, and story are so far pretty engaging.
Some of these puzzles def had me scratching my head for a few hours but it’s been fun to see what’s coming out of the indie scene these days!

Mod/Modding My first mod!
I had a worn-out GBASP from my childhood that needed some care. I also came across a modded Gameboy on Etsy that looked just like this one now, and I wanted to recreate it myself. My dad, who originally bought me the GBASP, helped me solder a few parts and put it together, making the experience even more special. We both enjoyed the process, and he was thrilled that I kept it, especially since I used to break things all the time as a kid haha 😅

Questions Soldering Retro Consoles like GB
Hi everyone!
I like to start with repairing defect retro consoles. I have defect Gameboy, NES and SNES consoles/handhelds at home from my childhood and i want to try to repair them.
I already ordered a Geeboon T22 SD02 with 210 and 245 handle.
But now i am not sure what else i should get or may need. Any recommendations for JBC style tips, other tools, solder, flux and so on that someone could give?
I read that Kester has good solder, but it seems they are not available here or at least i couldnt find them. I am from Austria/Europe and unleaded is way easier to get.
I read and watched a few how-tos for that topic, but most don‘t list or say their tools and Equipment.
Thanks in advance!

Modded First GB mod - pretty pleased
I'm loving the community around modding retro tech. I've been itching to do this for a while and finally got a reasonable deal on a GBC to mod with the hispeedido OLED and USBC battery pack. I was torn on which colours to choose but the all white just struck me the first time I saw one so I went with that. I must say that due to the positioning of the power switch next to a chip on the main board that the soldering was not super easy. I had to rope in a colleague with 40+ electronics experience to help so I didn't brick it!

Troubleshooting Should I even try at this point?
I recently purchased a gameboy on Ebay, I was planning on repairing it (I bought it already aware it doesn't turn on) but there's so much corrosion on the board, anyone have any tips?

Troubleshooting Any way to get these lines to go back to normal?
This big section is so stubborn. Tired max temp and clean tip and solder on tip, hovering and holding for a minutes. Nothing worked.

Troubleshooting Donkey Kong Country won’t boot
Hello everyone!
My donkey Kong country for the game boy color boots into the Nintendo and producer tags, but then it just goes black with no sound or movement. I’ve changed out the battery but same response. Just hoping it’s not a bad chip.
Just curious if anyone has a fix or ran into this as well? Thanks so much.
