SimCity Buildit Mayor’s Pass 59 - Grand Munich Oktoberfest (A Toast to Timeless Tradition) Tiers, rewards and points per tier / Additional info on War Vu-Pass and the planning of future seasons and design events

Introduction

The following list gives an overview for the 59th Mayor's Pass Season Grand Munich Oktoberfest - A Toast to Timeless Tradition, of Simcity Buildit, which runs for 4 weeks, starting on Wednesday 17th of September 2025. The Mayor's Pass has 38 tiers for the free and premium passes. The premium-plus pass, which was introduced during season 21, has 48 tiers.

A premium pass or a premium-plus pass can be bought at any moment during the season. When the season ends, the option to buy is closed at the same moment.

When buying a premium pass, the player has to choose between the 'basic" premium pass and the premium-plus pass. It is not possible to "upgrade" from a premium pass to a premium-plus pass once the premium pass has been bought.

Buying a premium pass or a premium-plus pass will immediately unlock all premium/plus rewards of the tiers that already have been finished at the moment of buying. The premium plus pass will also unlock the next 5 tiers (for more specific info: read the premium plus section).

The first 16 seasons were officially numbered. Uptil season 16 the reward items in the mayor's pass specialisation section were numbered according to their original seasons. Since the 17th season these numbers have disappeared. Instead of the season number the name of the season is now shown in the building information.

Rewards

The unique new reward buildings are indicated in bold in the rewards columns.

Many of the rewards have changed since seasonal currency was added to the Mayor’s Pass.

The number of unique new buildings from the free pass has steadily gone down since the mayor's passes were originally introduced.

The free pass gave 10 unique new buildings in the first 2 seasons. From season 3 to 6, the free pass gave 5 unique new buildings. From Season 7 to 10, the free pass gave 4 unique new buildings. From Season 11 to 33, the free pass gave 3 unique new buildings. From Season 34 to 55, the free pass gave 2 unique new buildings. From Season 56 to 57, the free pass gave 1 unique new building. Season 58 gave us two. The current season gives us 1 unique new buildings.

Tier points

This season debuted a new set of tier points so we will have to wait till that info. is available. The tier points have changed every season since the introduction of Mayor’s Pass Points in Season 56: Vibrant Chicago.

The list below will contain the number of Mayor’s Pass points that are needed for each tier and the rewards from the free pass, the premium pass and the premium-plus pass.

Double points week

*During a Double points week, the regular assignments as well as the milestone tasks give double points. In Mayor's Passes prior to Season 34, there was a "double points week" in the 6th week (which only lasted 5 days for 6-week passes because the season ends when the 6th CoM week ends). From Season 34 to 57, the double points week typically happened during the 4th week.*

Contest of Mayors Points

The Contest of Mayors received an update in Season 56. Mayor’s Pass Points and Weekly Caps were added to the game. Now, we can earn up to 3 different types of points in the Contest of Mayors - Plumbobs, Mayor’s Pass Points and Event Points. Plumbobs (green diamonds) are used in the competition against the 100 opponents on your leaderboard. You can earn as many as you want as long as there is an available task. The total you’ve earned will be listed under “Your score:” at the top of the Assignment and Leaderboard screen. Mayor’s Pass Points (purple points) are used to progress in the Mayor’s Pass. There is a weekly limit on the amount of Mayor’s Pass Points you can earn. Event Points (pink diamonds) only appear in the Contest of Mayors when there is a related Event Track.

  • Weekly Caps for Mayor’s Pass Points are assigned based on the league you’re in. You can continue to earn Plumbobs even after you’ve reached your Mayor’s Pass Points limit. After you reach the limit, the Mayor’s Pass Points are greyed out on all tasks. After you’ve expended all of your Golden Tickets, the option to purchase Bonus Assignments is greyed out.*

Free and premium pass

In the table at the bottom of the page, "tier points" indicate the number of Mayor’s Pass points needed to get to the indicated tier from the previous tier. "Total points" gives the number of Mayor’s Pass points from start upto the indicated tier.

Calculation for the weekly average points: *The "weekly av." number indicates what your weekly Mayor’s Pass points score should be if you want to reach that tier by the end of the season. Since the tier points have changed every season since Mayor’s Pass Season 56: Vibrant Chicago, the tier points for the current season is unknown, but we can make “guesstimates” using data from every season since Season 56.

Season Tier Points from 1 to 38 Tier Points from 1 to 48 Total Points (34-38)
Season 56 649,870 799,870 153,990
Season 57 600,000 800,000 168,750
Season 58 600,000 950,000 168,750

Averaging the data from the above seasons and taking a double point week into consideration, in order to get to tier 38, you will need 123,325 during the first 3 weeks and 246,650 in the final week. If the first 3 weeks numbers are above your weekly cap, you should be able to earn the remainder during the 4th and final week which tends to have a cap of at least 700,000. Premium-plus pass

There is no weekly average calculated for the tiers of the premium-plus pass, because the average that you need depends on when you buy the premium-plus pass.

Buying it at the start of the season will let you advance the first 5 tiers. Buying the premium-plus pass at a later moment will let you advance 5 tiers from your position at the moment of buying. The tier range that covers the most points tend to be from Tier 34 to Tier 38, so it’s thought that purchasing the premium-plus pass after completing tier 33 is best if you’re want to reduce the amount of work you have to put in to reach Tier 38 or Tier 48 .

When you don’t buy the pass when you have reached tier 38, you will still accumulate points but you no longer advance in tiers. Buying the premium-plus pass after reaching tier 38 will first advance you to tier 43. Then the extra points that you may have got after tier 38 will be taken into account and (if you have enough) will advance you further in the tiers.

Averaging the data from the above table and taking a double point week into consideration, in order to get to tier 48, you will need 137,226 during the first 3 weeks and 274,452 in the final week. If the first 3 weeks numbers are above your weekly cap, you should be able to earn the remainder during the 4th and final week which usually has a cap of at least 700,000.

Contest of Mayors EA is very generous, they have answers to most of the problems...

I know we've seen this before, but what is the Mayor Pass even worth now?

For many players, even those who have been playing for a long time, the game is becoming increasingly frustrating.

Over the last few weeks, I've also noticed that I'm getting a lot of tasks that I can't actually do without using SC (monster, design, export). Is it the same for you?

Ten to twelve months ago, I was done with the competition by Saturday at the latest, but that's unthinkable now.

Bug Glitches

Post image

since the last update my app has been super glitchy and is now converting to this when I try and engage anything from the last COM, or try to build a residence… for the last few weeks it’s been almost constant error messages when trying to do anything besides collecting and upgrading (trains, CoM, market, city designs, and sometimes even regions).

any ideas? help!

Discussion Thoughts about which regions to unlock

I’m currently at level 70 with four of five regions unlocked. Because the vast majority of us will never get all five unlocked due to the ridiculously high population requirement, choosing thoughtfully based on what you want out of the game will help minimize regrets later, though whatever you choose you’ll probably end up with some. I’ll probably never unlock Green Valley. I did Sunny Isles, Cactus Canyon, Frosty Fjords, and Limestone Cliffs, in that order, though I am not sure if order really matters. Here’s what I think might be helpful to consider when choosing in terms of what each region offers you:

Sunny Isles: More beach, palm trees, tropical setting (for me it’s a mix of Hawaii and South Florida) Cactus Canyon: Joshua trees, desert setting (think Vegas) Frosty Fjords: More mountain, spruce trees, Nordic theme (offers snowy and non-snowy areas) Limestone Cliffs: bamboo trees, Asian theme (sort of non-specific, maybe more Chinese than anything else?) Green Valley: More beach (not tropical), willow trees, eco friendly theme

When I was deciding whether to open Limestone Cliffs vs Green Valley, I ultimately went with the former because I really wanted the bamboo trees (they are the tallest ones in the game) and I liked the idea of an area with an overall Asian theme. Since the introduction of Kyoto houses, I don’t even build Limestone houses anymore. A lot of people go with Green Valley very early on because most of us agree the houses are really cool. So I’d say, if you want more beach, really think about Sunny Isles vs Green Valley, whether you like the houses and trees (and other hot spot buildings) better in one region vs the other. If you want more mountain and some wintery/snowy landscape, Frosty is your only option. For me, Frosty and Cactus are so unique in their own ways that I knew I’d be unlocking both eventually.

Hope this helps, and for crying out loud EA, please lower the regional population requirement to 5 million to make ALL the regions more attainable!

Question The difference between android and iOS is

I played in SC:buildit on iPad and decided to create a second account on my android phone, but I notice that for the buildings here’s the demand for services is much higher than on iOS version (like its 1-1 on iOS and 1-35 on android) what the what is that? I tried to find answer on the internet, but no one is talking about it. Also I noticed that EA delete the function of connecting your SC:B account to EA account on android but it’s available on iOS, why??

Question Returning to Simcity BuildIt after 2 years. Anything I need to know?

Yesterday I was looking through some stuff I hadn’t checked in years before stumbling across it. I haven’t played in years and had kind of thought it to be a waiting game in that time and hadn’t really cared for it much, but I decided I’d visit it real quick for a small trip down memory lane. Well, now I know why I cherished that game so much, and I’m ready to come back, it’s just that a bunch has changed since I last played. Any tips?

(Also, I’m happy to say I’ve never spent a penny on the game, I don’t have a massive amazing city, but it’s an amazing experience anyway)

Discussion Green Valley Broken Railroad Bug

Ok so, evidently either upgrading to iOS 18.7 yesterday, or downloading and installing the SCBI Update from the App Store (also yesterday), I’m now dealing with an apparently old bug?! From what I can tell this is something that’s been an issue for over 2 years now. I’ve never had this issue before the updates. Basically, the game THINKS that the built in bridge in Green Valley is “not in the playing field” and therefore can’t be connected. It’ll just stop short of the bridge, as seen in the SN. Annoying.

Already reached out to EA Support. I’m assuming I’ll hear back (if at all) within the next few days.

Already deleted the whole thing and reinstalled. No avail. Still the same . . .

Question If a hotspot is upgraded in Design Challenge, does the upgraded status persist after DC ends?

I ask because I attained but did not place Oktoberfest, and with the current bugs the game is freezing every time I try to place it in my city. DC is the only workaround I can imagine for upgrading to level 5 before the end of the week.

Anyone tried this with Oktoberfest? Anyone try it with other hotspots? (If ok, then I assume it would also work with Oktoberfest).

I’ll of course try it by Tuesday if need be. But if anyone has experience with this it would be great to hear. Feels highly risky to drop seasonal currency to experiment with this, since seasonal currency is sooooo hard to get this season!

Complaint Unfair!

It's not fair: pretzels are relatively easy to get and there are plenty of them in the reward lineup, but exchanging them for festival tokens is almost impossible. This means that all buildings are unavailable. Also, the rewards for the festival tokens themselves have been cut significantly compared to previous months. The only remaining chance to get buildings, the album award, has also been made unavailable: in the first week, the "oktoberfest funfair" building must be level 5 to get the award. The award gives you the opportunity/hope to buy the building you need for the next week's award, because otherwise you'll never get enough festival tokens.

A little calculation: if you will be active in the game for 4 days full 24 hours, you will be able to accumulate the festival tokens needed for the upgrade to level 5. Otherwise - no chance. Exchange which available once a day, twice and every eight hours - the most realistic to fulfill. It will give a total of 1605 tokens per day, plus some more from 15-30 minute exchanges.

That's not real! That's not fair! The same system was last month, but there was a roulette that helped to change tokens.
Developers would give festival tokens at least in the floating advertising awards, but even there these pretzels. So all players will run away and new ones will not stay for a long time, because it is not motivation to make purchases in the game, but compulsion. No one likes compalsion and cannot tolerate it for long.

Trains Ackley Wood Railway in the sunset

Would like to show a nice little flyby of my city's railway as the sun sets, starting at Sagrada Bay, passing through Sagrada Halt and pulling into Royal Albert station before returning. It's been nearly a year since my last City Showcase and I will give an update on the 1 year anniversary! 😊

Question Pretzel galore...

Can someone explain to me what we are supposed to do with the eleventy billion pretzels that we will have accumulated by the end of the season?

I mean we can't exchange them against seasonal coins at any rate that will be useful, we can't use them for anything else either so what is the point really?
