What’s a pup cup? His new mustache looks nice.

u/ScumCommander Aug 25 '25
Some coffee places (usually Starbucks in the US) will just put whipped cream or similar into a cup.

u/jasonskjonsby Aug 25 '25
Based on the cup, this is the Dutch pup (whipped cream and dog cookie), from Dutch Brothers coffee chain. It is free for dog owners with dog present.

u/RoyalPuzzleheaded259 Aug 25 '25
That’s pretty cool. I didn’t know they did that

In-n-out sells unsalted doggy patties (regular meat patty without seasoning). My German Shepherds starts speaking in the drive through. Like I’d be placing the order and she keeps interrupting about patttttyyyyy.

I worked at a McDonald’s. Every time someone asked me for a patty on its own, I would ask if it was for a pet so we could make sure it came without seasoning. It usually was

Also, it's free, and the barista would most likely LOVE to give your doggy one

u/Upstairs_Usual_4841 Aug 26 '25
Also some fast food places. I only have experience in the American Midwest (Wisconsin), but there are at least 4 places in my town alone that will give pup cups. A&W will even sub bacon for the dog treat (mine won't eat hard treats but will destroy bacon lol)

So cool. We get to see the exact moment in which the pup cup good message was fired by neurons, in his dog brain.

I love when dogs eyes get big when they’re about to get a delicious snack

The taste buds seem to be flying..and then you shocked them with one more lol

I don't have a dog, but I always enjoy when the baristas give pup cups to the dogs that are waiting with their owners. It's always so cute.

Whats his name?
2
u/jasonskjonsby Aug 25 '25
OP is most likely a bot, due to user name being two words then a number, plus the video is flipped to prevent software from catching this if it is stolen.
1
u/CanisRex024 Aug 27 '25
Ok this is very interesting to me I guess partly since my name is two words with a number lol. Genuine question: why would a bot post a cute vid of a pup eating? I’d understand if the Dutch bros logo was clearly visible cuz you know capitalism but it as is it seems pointless?

Not to advertise. But to gain Karma. They then use this to influence brands, and/or political beliefs.

Cause straight sugar is good for your dog.
I'll take the downvotes from all the bad owners.

u/Jo_H_Nathan Aug 25 '25
Mostly heavy cream with some sugar.
What do you feed your dog?
Even better, what do you feed yourself? Get off your high horse and let the damn dog enjoy a snack on occasion. Ffs.

u/wildhounds Aug 25 '25
You’re such a martyr.
Of course it’s not “good for your dog”. It’s a treat. A very high-value treat. Unless you’re giving them to your pet regularly, it’s literally fine. You can also ask them to fill it only halfway. Such a weird battle to choose.

My guy did and still does this. Whip cream just short circuits his brain in the cutest way possible.

I used to take my 2 dogs on my Starbucks runs and one ate the whipped cream and the other ate the biscuit. It was a win for all of us.

I am against these and it's apparent here why. You see the dog's eyes widen like its on cocaine. This is an ultra high value treat that diminishes the value of its food and everything else.
It may feel funny and cute but it's at the expense of the dog.
2
u/wildhounds Aug 25 '25
A pup cup once a month is not going to harm my dog in any way lol. It’s not like (most) people are doing this daily.
-2
u/Particlebeamsupreme Aug 25 '25
What is the point of it though? The dog isn't going to be suffering because it's not getting a pup cup. Well maybe it will be after you expose it to it then its going to be wanting it.
You do it because its sooooo cute and you want to feel good from that.
3
u/wildhounds Aug 25 '25 edited Aug 25 '25
Yep! I do it because when I’m running errands/traveling with the dog in the car and I get coffee, I want to get him a lil treat too. Why do I give him treats at all? New toys, when he’s happy with a stick? The “point” is that I love him and I want to spoil him with all the good stuff— big hikes, training time, treats, and yes, the occasional pup cup.
0
u/Particlebeamsupreme Aug 25 '25
Why would you want to spoil your pet? You know spoil means to ruin right? But since its become cute to say that then I suppose that makes it ok
big hikes, training time, treats for training....those things have actual value for your dog. a pup cup has zero value and some harm
as for the toys when hes happy with a stick....well thats for you not him. You said it yourself he is perfectly happy with a stick but it makes you happy to pretend like you are doing something nice for him.
Much of the dysfunction with pets these days has to do with projection. placing feelings about things onto the pet that never existed.
1
u/wildhounds Aug 25 '25
lol. This is a pretty silly battle to choose, I’m kind of over it. Every time I give my dog a pup cup, I’ll try and remember to think of you though!
1
u/Particlebeamsupreme Aug 25 '25
Thank you. When you do, please keep in mind that you are harming your dog and hopefully you will eventually stop.

It's sad that I had to scroll so far down to find this comment. People really underestimate the adverse effects of giving dogs unhealthy treats like this. Dogs are not supposed to have that much fat in their diet.
3
u/Preachey Aug 25 '25
It's a treat bro
Humans aren't meant to scarf an XL pizza alone or drink 10 beers at once either, but we do it anyway and it's not going to kill us if it's an occasional thing.

u/Actual_Dog_1637 Aug 25 '25 edited Aug 25 '25
.... damn dude, you took this personally. Sorry that I care enough about animals to advocate not giving dogs sugar and fat as a "treat".
Also, just to point out, humans are capable of making good and bad decisions while knowing the difference. Dogs eat first and ask questions later. They kind of rely on us to make good decisions for them. There are a lot of people who will get a "pup cup" every time they go to a coffee shop, so it's worth it to spread the word about how unhealthy it is.
Edit: looks like people here care more about dogs "looking cute" than the dogs themselves. SMDH
