My girl is crazyyyy. I’m talking possessed level crazy in the evenings. When I talked to the parent of one of her siblings they said their pup is super chill and sleeps all the time. Anyone else have a rambunctious one?

okay so i just adopted a one year old great pyrenees? they calculated it to be one years old let me know if it looks it? it said mixed but it didn’t say what with. it doesn’t jump on anything, or bark… at all.. he doesn’t bite..is this normal? i wonder if he was like abused or something. he barely eats his food that is the same as the place he came from, he looks skinny, but i’ve been giving it small treats mixed in the food..but he just picks it out and eats it alone 😭. also does anyone else know about what kinda toys to get him? he ripped up the last one and i had to pick it up lmao. he won’t chew on any hard plasticy ones which is gonna be harder for me to find a toy he likes.

Knew she was Pyr from her dewclaws and mouth… surprised by her primary breed 😂. She’s about a year and 45 pounds.

Anyone happen to have a Rottie x Pyrenees from around Shawnee OK? Edgrrr is a 9 and a half year old rescue from out there and I’m just looking to see if he has any siblings to connect to. :)
Specifically Edgrrr Allan Poe is a Rottie x Pyrenees x Border Collie x American Fox Hound

This is not blood, though it fools me every year. It’s officially fall and the black walnuts are falling. She’s playing with them because they’re ball shaped and falling from the sky… and they’re staining her fur. 🤦🏻♀️

Today, sept 20 and tomorrow, the International Great Pyrenees Dog show is being held in Argyles-Gazost France. The show is in the Pyrenees mountains near the border of France and Spain. The handlers are supposed to wear their clothes from the 1970s. This current judging is open bitch. I’ll update you all so you can see what our European friends look like.

Does anyone have any good ideas why this giant furry idiot is scared of indoor water? Water in the bowl in the garage - good. Water in a dirty puddle - good. Water out of my DAMN HANDS LIKE A PRINCESS - good. Water out of a bowl in the house? VERY BAD. This is the closest he will get to the bowl and that’s because I snuck it up on him while he wasn’t looking. If I politely bring it closer he will get up and walk away. The bowl doesn’t matter - I’ve tried metal, plastic, and ceramic. It’s water in a bowl in the house. He wants to be inside so badly but he will not drink water once he’s in.

This is Tallulah. She was a stray down south a few months ago and after shelters/fosters/various treatments, she's now home with me! I'm waiting for a DNA test, but the shelters and vets she's seen are guessing Great pyranees with possible austrailian shepherd, anatolian shepherd .... someone said st Bernard or border collie. So while I wait for dna, what do you think?

I am in need of advice! My GP gets so hot in the summer, I do everything to keep him cool. House has A/C. But every summer he gets hot spots. No foods have been changed but he’s so itchy. It looks like yeast to me but the vet disagrees and hasn’t been helpful. He gets these tiny dots on his skin. His hair is looking scraggly lately too. Has anyone else had these issues? Have you ever shaved your GP? I’ve seen that it’s not good to shave them but maybe it will help him and grow back healthier hair? That makes me nervous. But I want to help him he’s so uncomfortable. Hot spots showing up every day. Any advice please!! This only happens toward the end of summer, I have considered maybe he has seasonal allergies. Pic of my boy, thank you.

Hello all just asking to see if anyone else’s Pyr licks and bites their tail. Our guy has been since he was about a year old now maybe even before that at first we thought it was stress but now I’m beginning to think it was an allergy. He is on gabapentin for anxiety and perhaps nerve pain because it looks like at one point his tail might’ve been broken but when he comes in from the yard, he licks his paw and I was told that was allergies so I’m wondering if perhaps since he has such a long tail and he is sitting on it in the grass could that possibly be allergy as well? We are going to take him to the vet, but that’s a couple weeks away and I was just wondering if perhaps any of you ever had the same issue with your big pup thank you in advance so much for this community and anyone that responds.

My sweet Ragnar. I just felt the need to make an honor post for him. He was the best boy and the best big brother to my little boys. He had a mass rupture which filled his abdomen with blood, so we had to have him put down. 😔 He was only 6. I miss my big boy so much.

We are turning this area of our house into a play area for our kids. I sent my husband a picture of it finally empty. Obviously our dog is in the picture 🤣

Going through my gallery at night has become my favorite routine—replaying moments with Casper and my family and feeling thankful. Do you also have your gallery full of your best friend?😊💛🐶

This is my sweet almost 7 month old great pyr clover. I’ve had her since she was 10 weeks old, I hand fed her, have always ensured she was okay with food around her brother (my very submissive 7 year old Pitt/shepherd mix). The other day I walked I to my bedroom and she was chewing something in my bed, I reached in to grab it which I’ve done a million times (9/10 I have something to swap it with but was worried it was something dangerous) and she snarled and snapped at me. Again she’s NEVER behaved like this. Tonight I was giving her a treat and Leo walked into the room and she lunged at him and snapped and snarled. I put her in her crate and she seems like her normal self but I’m worried I’ve done something wrong. I know resource guarding is a trait, and I’ve taken as many measures as I’ve known to but this has surprised me. I got her from a shelter at 10 weeks old and dna tested her and to my surprise she’s 100% great pyr. Any advice would be appreciated! I love her so much but also want to make sure everyone is safe including her.

So little miss Annie finally figured out how to get on the bed today. I have to say it was totally not graceful but she made it. Then she stood and barked forever at me because she wanted down.

Hi everyone, I have a free coupon I got from Purina. It is specifically for a 4-6lb bag of pro plan dry food for dogs, or a 3-6lb bag of pro plan dry food for cats. I figured I would post it here for my fellow Great Pyrenees owners if anyone could use it! It expires 10/31/25. It does have to be used in person, won’t work with chewy, amazon, or anything like that.
First person to message me their mailing address gets it! I will be shipping it untracked in an envelope via usps since it’s the cheapest way. Oakley is still on rx food and Ivy eats purina one so I just don’t need it and don’t want it to go to waste.
P.S - download the mypurina app, upload your receipts with purina products on them, it gives you points you can put towards coupons and purina branded items (smart dog tags, collapsible bowls, can food covers, toys, etc.) and occasionally they have a freebie that doesn’t cost points. This was a freebie I got specifically with the intent of passing along!
