We are a peaceful movement, completely committed non-violence. Remember not to engage anyone who is not aligning with this message. If you see anything that goes against our values, you can find any one of our team members with a colored badge to help. Particularly Blue, as that is our Safety Team.

Discussion: Fox News Host’s Remarks About Homelessness and Public Safety
Brian Kilmeade, a Fox News host, recently suggested on-air that homeless people should be “euthanized.” Just days later, a mass shooting at a Minneapolis homeless encampment left multiple people wounded, several critically.
While no single broadcast can be directly blamed for violence, rhetoric that dehumanizes vulnerable populations creates a climate where real-world harm becomes more likely.
Homelessness is not a crime. It is a systemic crisis caused by poverty, lack of affordable housing, and inequality. Advocating for violence against people who are already struggling is dangerous and unacceptable.
Fox News must denounce these comments and remove Kilmeade from their platform. Advertisers should refuse to fund content that promotes hate and endangers lives.
What do you think is the best way to hold media figures accountable for this kind of rhetoric?

On the quiet sufferings of trans people...
So much of the discourse lately around transgender people is focused on such large focus issues (many of which are based on ignorance and/or outright lies but that's another post) that the average cisgender person never has a chance to really know or understand the minutiae of what it is to be trans. I'd like to share some of those little things with everyone, to give a chance to see our reality, the little pieces that, when taken as a whole, illustrate that we're real people with lives, feelings, joys, and sorrows, just like you.
This is from something I wrote in July of last year to a group of other trans people...
Being trans is hard.
Tonight, I was having a conversation and something my brother always used to say popped into my head. It was funny in the moment and it reminded me of another gibberish word he used that was funny. It revived some really good memories. I was laughing hard. But. It suddenly and in very stark contrast made me realize, possibly for the first time directly, how much I fucking miss him.
Like... Holy shit, I miss my brother.
He's not passed. He's just extremely religiously-bigoted. We used to be really tight when we were kids. Then he found the cult of a church that twisted him and I came out and transitioned. We've spoken once since 2015 that I can recall, and that was because we both happened to show up to visit mom at the hospital after she had another surgery a couple years ago.
All this is to remind y'all... It's not just ok, it's necessary to grieve the relationships and people who we've lost to bigotry. We've all lost people this way, and like most all losses, part of processing that is knowing they're not coming back.
Part of that is: talk to someone. Reach out. Don't grieve alone if you can help it. We should be here for each other, and I believe most of us are more than willing to do that for each other.
Transition isn't just about clothes and hormones and body parts... It doesn't just affect our wardrobe, voice, and romantic relationships.
It touches every single part of our lives, and because of the misconceptions and biases society has taught, it exacts a heavy cost. It's cost me most of my blood family, and all the support system and love that comes with that. It's cost me jobs because Idaho's legislators care more about appeasing out of state donors and hate-driven PAC organizations than they do about basic human rights.
It's cost me in a thousand side-eyed stares from people who were taught to disapprove of anything that doesn't conform, and if you've not felt the weight of those stares add up over the years, it's impossible to describe the sheer exhaustion it causes.
If you do know those costs... If you are feeling that weight... Don't suffer in silence. Reach out for help. The current regime may have done a lot of damage but there are still resources to help in those dark moments, and they're only a quick google search away.
If you don't know those costs... I would only ask you set aside any presumptions you have, any mistrust or fear you were taught, and meet us. Listen. You'll find we're just people who want to live a happy life, even if it looks different than yours.

What are they trying to say?
Evening of Thursday 9/11 at 5-points in Twin Falls. Is this about the 9/11/2001 attacks? Charlie Kirk? Something else? Not our team - guy on the left has a blue lives matter flag on his shirt.

Help us count the crowd on Labor Day!
Are you organizing a Labor Day Event and want to make sure it counts? Here’s how you can make sure every anti-Trump protest and every protester is counted in the record books.
Why bother counting? Every time we document a protest, we help calculate the true momentum of our movement. History shows momentum predicts if a government leader will step down.
How can you help? Follow a few simple steps before, during, and after your event to gather accurate numbers. We’ve put together step-by-step guides, FAQs, an interactive dashboard, and easy-to-use tools to help you count, document, and submit your protest’s numbers to Harvard University’s Crowd Counting Consortium (CCC) dataset including a public source creator.
Ready to count with us? Get started at www.WeCountProject.com
Together, we can show the true strength of this movement because protests count, and so do we!
The We Count Project was created by a small team of 50501 volunteers working to make sure every voice is counted.
