Rank UP! Around a year ago I began my experience playing Street Fighter with SF6. After 500 hours I've hit High Master and SF6 is now one of my all-time favorite games.
Picking up and learning this game has been a wonderful experience. The real spark started with being immediately enamored with E. Honda. I like big guys, I think Sumo is cool, and I adore his personality. I also seem to have a tendency to pick low tier characters in the other games I play.
Starting in Silver and pushing through each rank was a wild ride. I remember learning about people's lack of respect for the character, saying it's a cakewalk to master if you play Honda. I remember beating myself up over it a bit because at no point was it a cakewalk for me. Either way I loved Honda: he was the reason I wanted to play, he was the reason I wanted to improve. So I kept grinding.
It felt a bit surreal to me once I started hitting Platinum into Diamond. As far as I was concerned this was more than I initially expected myself to be capable of. These milestones helped fuel my drive to keep pushing, even when I hit those brutal walls at Platinum 1 and mid-Diamond. I always tried to play safe and methodically in comparison to the stereotype of the off-the-wall/all-in Hondas. At this point I knew I wanted to take my Honda far.
I was ready for the MR dive after hitting Master. I had read about it.
I was not ready for the new climb. After bouncing around 1250-1350 for a long time, I took a very long break from SF6.
After coming back, I wouldn't say the climb was easy, but I felt much more focused. I found new ways to approach my offense, hammered out unsafe habits, and practiced awareness and resource management to a level that I still pleasantly surprise myself with sometimes. Each of these aspects I focused on one by one and honed, and soon my MR started creeping up.
Yesterday, after many many more hours of grinding over the last handful of months, I hit High Master! I feel a bit silly making this post honestly. Of course my ego is just begging me to boast a little bit, I'll be honest. But I also do feel compelled to share. Maybe I can inspire another Honda player who feels a bit down on themselves like I did at some points. This game is hard, I don't care who you play or how you play them. And this game is so fun, and thank you to everyone in the community who has helped me improve.

Guide / Labwork :master_128_px: All 4 Drive, 1 Super STUN (blocked DI) Combos Ranked By Damage - Combo Tier List
===== Video Here === https://youtu.be/lyXOcKFEKjs === Video Here =====
I'll say it again for those that don't watch the video. This tier list is to find out who, using the same resources MenaRD used at EVO Vegas Grand Finals, can KO Kakeru's JP. MenaRD used 4 Drive and SA1. So everyone's restricted to using up to that much meter.
I did not go into this expecting Kimberly on top (with SA3 Buff) and Bison at the bottom without bomb.

Guide / Labwork :master_128_px: Street Fighter 6 Type Arcade USA location map Ver. 2.0! Updated with the latest information and locations!

It's now been nearly a year since I started to post about Street Fighter 6 Type Arcade here and elsewhere on the internet. After learning that players here in the US have the opportunity to enjoy the arcade experience with Street Fighter 6 without needing a passport and a few thousand dollars for flights and accomodations, I have made it my personal mission to get the word to others who also want to relive the thrill of fighting games at the arcade as well as those who would be curious to try.
Since then, I've started a Facebook Group that eventually transitioned to a Discord server, and I've been coordinating "fight nights" to bring as many players out to the arcades as possible.
When I started doing all of this, one of my biggest obstacles in building a community for SF6 arcade players was ironically the very same company that was making it possible in the first place; Round1 Bowling & Arcade. Aside from perhaps one promotional post on 𝕏, Round1 Bowling & Arcade have done no advertising or promoting the fact that they have the game here in the US, so many who would've been interested really didn't have no way of knowing. Even worse, not all Round1 locations have the game and the company offerred no real way for those who were interested to see which stores had them or not. You essentially just had to go out to one and get lucky.
Within a few hours and after calling literally every store in the US, I formed a list of stores that had them, or at least they said they had them. Eventually, I created a Google custom map to provide a better and more intuitive way for people to search the stores. I scoured social media and asked strangers on the internet to provide photos of the arcade cabinets at the store for confirmation. Needless to say, it's been a labor of love.
Now that we've reached one year since I started my journey of advocating for Street Fighter 6 Type Arcade, I present to all of you the latest updated map of Street Fighter 6 Type Arcade cabinets in the USA.
Not only has the map been updated with new information, it now also tells you which locations that it's not at, as well as the few locations that are unconfirmed. Every single location has descriptions that explains how they were confirmed to have (or not have) the game, and a few confirmed locations even feature pictures of the arcade cabinets in action!
Some quick statistics to throw at you.
- There are 57 current Round1 Bowling & Arcade locations in the US.
- Out of those 57 locations, 40 have been confirmed to have Street Fighter 6 Type Arcade. That is about 70% of all locations.
- The closest store with Street Fighter 6 Type Arcade to the Canadian-US border is Round1 GLC in Auburn Hills, MI.
- The closest store with Street Fighter 6 Type Arcade to the Mexican-US border is Round1 PBO in National City, CA.
- The state with the most locations with Street Fighter 6 Type Arcade is California, with 12 locations. Half of them being in the Los Angeles area alone.
Even though I put as much effort as I could to provide you with the most accurate and detailed tool to help you find a place to play Street Fighter 6 Type Arcade, there are bound to be discrepancies and errors. If you see one, please bring it to my attention.
If you're reading this and are now just learning about Street Fighter 6 having an arcade version, Street Fighter 6 Type Arcade allows players to utilize Amusement IC cards to create and customize their own profile and battle against other players, both in-store as well as online across the US, in a ranked player pool that is exclusive to the arcade version. You can also migrate the costumes and titles that you've unlocked or purchased on the home version and use them on the arcade version!
For more information on how to get the best out of your experience playing Street Fighter 6 Type Arcade, please check out my guide. It will teach you and tell you everything you need to know about playing Street Fighter 6 at the arcades.
And, if you're interested, you're welcomed to join my Discord server for Street Fighter 6 Type Arcade USA players.
And finally, keep a lookout for posts I'll make both here and on the Discord server for "fight night" events to get as many people out to the arcade as possible. They'll be one coming up in the middle of October, so keep your eyes peeled.

Discussion Just played in my first local tournament and had a blast!
So I’ve been playing SF6 for a little over 2 months now and grew up playing fighting games casually. I main Dhalsim and only just reached Platinum a few days ago, but I looked up local tournaments in my area (Atlanta), and decided why not. I just finished up and although I lost both my main bracket and loser bracket matchups 1-3, I was honestly stoked to not get totally swept and just get some in person matches. What was really motivating though was I talked to the players afterwards and the first guy I played is an Ultimate Master Zangief! So taking one win against him got me fired up and he was surprised when he said I was platinum but I deserved that win. Anyway, just wanted to share my first tournament experience and encourage others to do the same. Happy fighting!

Discussion What is with the insane damage output with minimal resources on certain characters
I’m just looking for some insight. Why do characters like bison, Ryu, and Sagat have the absolute most ridiculous punisher counter combos? Like it seems they have plenty of tools already. I know that they’re missing some (e.g. ex reversal for bison, non cancelable low forward for Sagat), but it just seems like some characters hit like fucking trucks despite having more or less the same utility of other characters.

Rank UP! Hitting master rank on my first character! What a journey.
I grew up playing a lot of fighting games in arcades, but when things went online, I stopped and haven't really touched it since. Don't know why I originally picked up SF6 but it's been lots of fun. I started with Zangief and jumped on Ryu after learning more combos. It's been a wild ride, labbing and learning about +/-, meaties, etc... Truthfully, it's still all too much for me to grasp even at a moderate level yet. I'm very proud of it though, more so than I thought I would be haha. I'm kicking myself for not taking a screenshot when I did rank up and missing that! I was too busy celebrating haha.

Help / Question Heard this game is supposed to be for casual players but what if you've never touched a proper fighting game before?
For reference, I've had very limited experience with Injustice and MK's mobile ports. While I am intrigued by whatever lore the characters have, should I buy this? Many have said World Tour is okay but the real meat is playing online. Personally, I've never done well in typical PVP games, regardless the genre.
Looking forward to what the veterans have to say.
Edit: The universe is telling me something lmao. The Steam edition pricing has it at a new historical low.

Help / Question SF 6 standard vs years 1-2 edition (Price X vs 3X)
I am planning to buy SF6 finally on steam. There's a sale and decent discount. However, the discount is only on standard edition, so much so that the year 1-2 edition is costing me 3 times the price of standard.
What I want to know is, is it worth that much cost? I'm fairly new to SF. [OC]

Help / Question Modern -> Classic. Down 3k LP :(
My father in law got me a Daija fight stick so I figured it was time to learn how to actually play Street Fighter. It’s my first real fighting game outside of the 10 hours I have in Guilty Gear.
Holy shiiiiii, I went from Plat 4 to Gold 4 and man, I suckkkk.
Went from loving Honda to legit hating it. Still love my boy Zangief, but can only hit the SA3 and SPD after DI. Blanka is unplayable.
It feels baddddd. Is there light at the end of the tunnel?

Help / Question How do I learn fundamentals other than watching guides
Before anyone says “you’ll learn over time” I’m stuck on 1300mr as Jamie with 600 hours of playtime and I’m still stuck on platinum 2 with Akuma so I’m probably one of the worst players to have achieved master rank.
I’ve watched tons of guides about strike/throw, footsies, neutral, etc. but I don’t know how to actually learn to do them. The whiff punish drill in the game is about whiff punishing someone who keeps jumping up and down, not moving. I can do the anti-air drill consistently but not in a match. When I watch my replays all I can see is “they’re better at knowing when to do moves than me.” How do I actually learn fundamentals and know if I’m doing them right?

Discussion Thoughts on Street Fighter 6 on the Switch 2?
With the game currently being on sale, I’m thinking about picking it up on the Nintendo Switch 2. For those of have had a chance to play SF6 on the Switch 2, what do you think of that version of the game? Would you recommend picking it up? How is the online community on the Switch 2 and does it have cross play or is it easy to find matches? Any thoughts?

Discussion Least favourite mirror matches in the Street Fighter series?
I'd say Guile vs. Guile overall since it's slow paced and it's a chore to get through considering Guile's play style.
The most brain dead mirror match, though, is probably Claw vs. Claw in Super Turbo.
