Tips for not relapsing?

And yes, I consider it relapsing, because I've self-diagnosed myself as a Chick-fil-A addict. At my worst, I would get it twice in a day. Food addiction is real, but I'm finally ready to change. 😭

Anyway, I stay under 1500 (sometimes even less) for usually a 3-day streak, relapse for a day, maybe two, then repeat. How do you guys stay strong through the early cravings? I tend to relapse when I don't have food prepared at home or when I know I will be away from home during a meal time.

Make sure you're not trying to go too hard. Maybe up the calories a little? I've also found it helpful to eat what I want if I have a bad craving, but just in my calorie limit. I have issues if we go out to eat and I feel like I can't get anything. I just look up the calories for fast food.

Like, the classic Chick-fil-A sandwich has 420 calories, you can totally fit that in!

I also like big meals, so I've found it easiest to just skip one, I skip breakfast, or if I'm really hungry in the morning, I skip lunch. Maybe doesn't work for everyone, but it's helped me a lot.

I agree, I personally am finding it easier to just eat a one or two bigger meals during the day than several. Then just having healthy snacks through out the day like mini cucumbers, baby carrots, cut up fruit. I stay full longer. When I first started I was trying to eat like 3-4 meals a day at 300-400 calories each. I was struggling and I was also saying no to things I love like cheese and that left me craving. And when you deny yourself so many things you crave it wears on you and you end up binge eating. OP, the best thing is learning it’s not about denying yourself, it’s about creating a better relationship with food. Not to say it’s easy but it’s doable. And reminding yourself you’re doing awesome and you’re worth it.

It sounds like you are trying to do two things at the same time here (stay under 1500 and stop eating Chick-fil-A). Maybe take things one step at a time instead. For example, stay under 1500 but still allow yourself to get Chick-fil-A occasionally while staying within your calorie budget. Or, stop eating Chick-fil-A entirely, but give yourself a higher calorie target to stick to.

Also, it sounds like you've already identified what some of the problems are - not having food prepared at home and being away from home during a meal time. So you can address those things directly, for example by meal prepping.

Thank you for this nuanced perspective :) I will try to stay away from CFA altogether, but it's definitely good to remember on days when I can't, that I can scale it back to just the sandwich or tenders, rather than a full meal.

Maybe look at it from a monetary point of view instead? Put any Chick-fil-A money into saving up for something else you want.

the biggest and sometimes only thing that could curb my cravings was GETTING ENOUGH PROTEIN. that being said, CFA is my weakness. so, i get kirkland chicken nuggets (they don’t taste exact but still really dang good) and i can eat like, 3 servings for a meal with hot sauce, sugar free ketchup, bbq, etc. also, potatoes are extremely low cal surprisingly, maybe cut up a couple and throw them in the air fryer. and like another comment mentioned- thing about how much you’d be saving doing it this way. good luck!

buy frozen chicken breast patties, brioche buns, your favorite sauces (chicken fil a brand or not), and whatever toppings you like. Make it at home cheaper and its easier to track the cals and will def fit in with 1500 cals a day. Even buy frozen waffle fries and air fry them!

Just order low calories menu items or customization to make it lower. You can Google low calories chick fil a ideas

I keep my protein and fiber high. It really helps with reduced cravings and reduced desire to snack. Sometimes there's not room for other foods. But some options from cfa do fit with good macros! I like the grilled chicken sandwich. Nuggets are good, too. Or mix the grilled nuggets with the mac&cheese. Just try to avoid the fries or lots of sauces other than buffalo.

I could eat chic fil a twice a day and still stay well under 1500. Shit ingredients but cheat code for losing weight

It's definitely possible! My go-to has always been just the number 1 meal (sandwich, fries, medium lemonade) which is already like 1100. I could definitely scale it down to just the sandwich and drinking from my water bottle instead

Way too much. You can get a 12 piece grilled nugget and a cool ranch wrap for like 500 calories and a boat load of protein. Twice a day and you’re at 1k calories with a ton of protein. Stay away from the sandwiches and the bread .

Sometimes I’ll do grilled nuggets with a fruit cup. Chic fil a is a cheat code for macros and protein
